I like to delegate particular mindsets of my internet behavior to certain browsers.

School stays in IE
Money making stays in Firefox.
Everything else is Chrome.

I imagine some might think this is weird but it works for me.

I'm going to turk in Chrome a bit. Judging from forum discussions people seem to favor Chrome setup with page monitor, tampermonkey scripts, and whatnot for greater efficiency than firefox.

Even though this change might only be a trial run it interrupts my wierd compartmentalisation. Also, if I favor Chrome it becomes more of an issue!(Egads)

So, does anyone do their turking from within VM? I have virtuabox and was considering installing some variation of linux to work from. Is this a bad idea? Why?

Note for next time there's a batch:

Use the "andaccept" and refresh trick to fill up your queue when the batch starts to go away, because that's what lots of other people are doing.

See the difference? The second link will, when refreshed, automagically accept a HIT from that group.

What you do is, you get the auto-accept link, put it in your address bar, and refresh like crazy (watching out for captchas) until your queue is full (25 is the limit). Then go click on your "HITs Assigned To You" link and work through the queue.

I have observed that whenever I request a check of more than $20 on Mturk, I never receive it even though I receive notification from Mturk that the check has been mailed to me. But whenever I request a check of less than $20 they send it immediately to my residential address within a week.

Is anybody else having the same issue and what is the highest value of check that you have requested on Mturk? I have once lost a check of value $150 since the rogue Mturk people won't send it to me.

They clearly want me to pay them $4 for every check they send. so if I am paying $4 as fees for a $20 check then it means that I am paying $20 as fees for every $80 I receive. I have never seen such blatant forgery in my whole life. I wish I could take those Mturk people to court.

I wanna build up the amount of HIT's that I accepted, but I'm having a really hard time finding a requester that offers a lot of HIT's. I don't mind if they have low payouts, I just want to build up my account. I've done Crowdsource, Venue Quality, and SGT. Do you guys know of any other requesters similar to the ones I mentioned? Thanks in advance.

So, I clicked Install, but Chrome won't even let me download the HIT Database script. (Thanks, Chrome, I know that. Just let me download the dang thing and work around you.) Do I need to change something in my settings or am I just an idiot?

Does anyone choose Mturk as a career? If so how much money do you make in a day? And how many hours per day? What kind of hits do you do?

I've done at least several hundred hits with both and here are my experiences:

It has been a long time since I've even looked at any HITs from them, because they mostly aren't worth the time. I did about a hundred of their "opinions on issues" HITs; I got rejected on one. That was because I gave a rather snarky answer to a dumb question. That is the only rejection I got from them. Mostly, I just used them for engine ranking HITs, and there are much better paying HITs other places, if you want to do that.

I've never gotten a rejection from them even though many times I look at what they say they want, and go, "huh?" I do like what appears to be their system; that is that if you get "in," on a HIT you seem to be certain to be approved, but low quality may get you cut off fast.

When I've asked before, everyone has said they never reject.

:confused:Does anyone use the save button in the Speechink HITs? I have and when I go back to the HIT later, there's nothing there. Where does the saves product go? Does anyone have any idea?

Hey everybody, I am new here:) I already tried searching for this and it could be somewhere in the great hits yesterday, but there are thousands of pages of it, so I am asking here. Please don't hate! Anyway, so yesterday I did this geography hit for 4$ and I'm sure it said I would get an email to do the second part today to complete it and get the 4$. I never got an email and the hit isn't on the mturk site either. Has anyone else had this problem, or did they get the email or what? Or did I completely misunderstand? I just want to finish the hit and get the 4 dolla ;p

edit* i just wanted to add that I have sent 2 messages to the requester as well, with no response.. 1 last night and 1 this morning.

So since my page monitor deleted all of my entries and I had to redo my list for that, I figured I'd flesh it out and post it here. Format will be Requester name followed by requester ID followed by a link to the search to monitor.

The first group will be requesters for building numbers. The second group will be batch requesters. The third group is for requesters who put out good paying tasks/surveys.

I do not recommend monitoring all of these as it will give you errors with page monitor. Also, there is no way to tell for sure if these requesters will continue posting HITs in the future. This list was created based off who has made me the most money in the past couple months, as well as special attention given to those HITs that are for building numbers.

The "rep" buttons have turned into a popularity and defamation contest lately. People are hiding behind nasty comments and name-calling, resulting in juvenile antics and begging for positive rep to counteract.

The only solution to this popularity contest is to get rid of the rep altogether.
