anyone on here remember domain consolidators? I remember doing their 1.30 dollar 150 word hits, those were so easy and fun. I guess they went out of business :(

This is the thing I hate to hear. "Well worth it" I mean really? (and I'm not jumping down your throat, just to clarify my tone)

This isn't even minimum wage when you average out all the ones that took 40/80/120 seconds

I mean yes it's better than some of the stuff we do on here that pays 2-3 dollars an hour but in all honesty, it isn't really "worth it"

Turking is like working in an upper class sweat shop.

Between MedCrowd and those CrowdSource ones, up to 55 for the day. Going to take a break. Hopefully some MedCrowds will be left later.

I'd like to add (to clarify) There are exceptions to the rule on Mturk. I'm stating the average.

I agree with you that its not great pay, but you are comparing making something to making absolutely nothing. The former is obviously better. Also, i wouldnt quite compare copying and pasting something from an internet site to sweating in a shop, thats so silly lol.

Additionally, I make about 450 a week doing this in my spare time at work, simply working leger, two lakes and crowdsource top tier writing. I dont like writing but its free money. I feel a lot of the turkers on here feel its free money as well doing mindless work in the comfort of their own homes. Its a good feeling.

I refuse to work for anything <18-20/hour on here, simply because after taxes it is reduced to around 12-14 which is unacceptable by my standards but I still understand where everyone is coming from who does.

That would be like saying the people in other countries "Sweating in a shop" and being paid squat..."Better than nothing" You can always make a positive argument about something but it doesn't mean that my statement isn't true. And "ignorance"...I stated that it was an "Upper class sweat shop" Hoping that people would "get" that I meant it wasn't exactly like a "literal" sweat shop....guess not.

That is very good. If you could inform the rest of us that are having trouble making that amount as to what process you follow to complete them so quickly, I'm sure we would all be forever in your debt (and I am being pure, not condescending)

I use hot keys for everything e.g; Ctrl XCV (for copy/paste) Ctrl Space to keep the Dentist page on top all the time (I downloaded this hot key) and I type around 80 WPM.

What else could I do to finish these in an average of 32 seconds a hit? (that's what the average would be to make 14 dollars an hour)

Why is this forum so touchy these days? Make money, live happy, eat skittles.

Best description ever, that made me chuckle. Really, it's a tradeoff. For mind numbingly dull work most of the time, you can make money in time you might have otherwise spent watching tv or something else. mTurk will rarely compete with an hourly paying job (unless Rubin posted a weekly 100,000 batch of his $.50 HITs). One can dream...

Your argument has its points but the problem is this. Even slave labor with little to no more has zero choice. We have choices. They get no freedom, we get freedoms. If I stop right now for the rest of the day and watch TV...I can. If i have tog et up and go to the store...I can.
Let me know how these work for you at a desk job working your $15 an hour (less then $10 an hour after gas, tolls, taxes, food there ect.ect.ect) These freedoms come at a cost....pay. MTurk requires NO education , no travel time, no punch clock, no start/stop time, hell clothing is even optional.
MTurk is not designed as a full time only job. It is a filler. So if you work as a ebayer...mturk works well....a student...a at home parent....this is what it is designed for.

"If you could inform the rest of us that are having trouble making that amount "
So you direct your anger for not understanding how to capitalize on this HIT onto others who are comfortable with the amount they are making....

    tsk tsk

    Haha seriously.

Everyone is so concerned about how much other people make. Instead of people complaining about an hourly wage or whatever, they should be work and their hourly wage would probably be better.
