the bear is too lazy. hoping some bird will come and just pluck the hat off...

bah, i've made just over 50/day for almost three months now, rubins or no rubins, with no special quals except medcrowd, which many people have. i probably only do writing hits once or twice a week or when specific requesters pop up, and i only do transcriptions for ryan brin, who posts hits once or twice a month... it's really just picking up on everything that comes through here that you're qualified for, running your own searches, and having a lot of time...

Really? Do they have more than one hit type listed? I don't know why I had Chirpsy=Tweets=Not for me on my mind. I will look that up hate to miss out on although I'm not sure how good I'd be at title writing. Thanks.

They want article quality titles summarized from the article given. The hits pay .50 cents plus bonuses (up to $1.00 a hit) and are very fast. There is only 1 hit type until he sees your work and when he trusts you he will move you up to a level 1 moderator where you will edit the hits...I achieved the highest moderator status after a year and level 1 after just a month.

He pays within a couple of hours.

a lot of the writing ones just totally confuse me. they'll just be something totally random like "write 500 words on topic: dave loves windmills" or impossible like "write 400 words on company x. but do not mention company, or x, and be professional".

Chirpsy is not like that at all. You are given a small article per chirp (5 in a hit) and have 1 sentence to write. If the article is not relevant then you skip it.

I'm not picking up the connection between the dismissive "bah" and the rest of your post. So you do pretty much what I was saying, plus occasional writing and transcription? I didn't say it can't be done, I just said it would be a tough go of it...most people consider investing a lot of time to fit that bill.

Edit: ok, just like Quals, spending 12+hours/day Turking also alleviates the need for grinding to reach $40.

With Chirpsy you are writing for many different companies. Some companies you write for need articles on used cars, crowdsourcing, windows products, gas and oil, global warming etc. Out of the 5 articles you are given you have to decide if the article is relevant to what the company needs. If it's not you don't chirp on it (and still get paid). If it is, you write 1 sentence to highlight the article and get a bonus for the sentence written. Base pay is .50 cents plus .10 cents for every chirp written. Usually only 1 or 2 of the articles are relevant.

The only way you will get a rejection is if you copy the headline of the article headline and use that as your headline as that is plagiarism. I am one of the few people who approve or reject the hits.

When do these hits normally appear? They seem profitable.

I think anybody can make a really decent amount of money if they have the time to dedicate.

Some of us (like myself) just use this for extra cash so I don't need (nor want) to dedicate 8+ hours a day to turking.

I usually mostly turk while working my IRL 3rd shift job because most of the time its chill without a lot to do other than check on the individuals and make sure they are sleeping/okay.

All the time, every day. It is hard to catch the writing hits because people jump on them so fast as they are very profitable but once you do, accept them all at once because you have 4 hours to work on them and 1 hit will only take you 5 minutes.

just being dismissive of the idea that you need any one particular requester to get by. yes, if rubin wasn't around from 12/23 til now, it would have been much harder to make 40-50/day, but this time of year is an exception, and i would expect it only gets this dead around the holidays. when school is in session and people are on regular work schedules, it's not what i'd call 'tough'. time consuming and boring, perhaps, but not difficult if you actually have the time to spend on turking...

and now that i think about it, honestly, my first two months i spent most of my time awake turking, but the past three weeks or so i've been making what i can when i get a chance and doing other things about half the time, and my earnings haven't changed... i've just adjusted my mindset from 'if there isn't anything good this morning, there'll be stuff to make up for it later this afternoon or tonight' to 'if there isn't anything good today, there'll be something to make up for it tomorrow or the next day'. and so far, even during the holidays, it's pretty much worked out like that.
