I'm still pretty careful with what I do, I'm just not going to sit on a website for 5 minutes to decide if its IT services and solutions or ecommerce solutions or whatever business thing it is. Those are the only ones that snag me a bit. That and some of the random home sites
Same here! I'm getting more confident as I do more though but yeah I'm not gonna do too much on my first time.
Now if this was Crowdflower instead of Crowdsource, I probably would have never felt any kind of confidence the more I do. It seems like Crowdflower intentionally makes you feel stupid for trying sometimes.
wow, every day i have less and less tolerance for the crap on surveys. i've just done two in a row where i spent more time providing metacommentary on the potentially irresponsible scholarship being conducted by the requesters and their poorly-designed surveys than i spent on the surveys themselves. ugh.
I tried translating it through Google, but it was all images with the text on them, so it wouldn't translate. I just returned it. No biggie!
I meant Google Chrome recognizes it isn't in English and has a pop-up asking you if you want the whole website translated to English. Neat feature!
i can't even get into right now, but between how much i know about statistics and where they come from, and how poorly i think the majority of these surveys are constructed, surveys which are being used to farm data for what will eventually become published studies, and later possibly books and the underpinnings of new theories of behavior/consumption/whatever, i want to barf.
I'm assuming that the CrowdSource google search hits that show thousands of available hits but then report that there are no more available when I view them are because I've hit the limit and get cut off? If that's the case, is that a per-day limit, a per-listing limit, or a per-person limit? In other words, when can I expect to be able to work on these hits again?
i think it's per-day per-user. they're getting hits for the searches, and there are only so many from each computer that will count in bumping the desired results.
I suspected this might be the desired result, but in the "paste the most relevant hit" ones you don't actually load up the website (unless the URL is too long for the preview spot), so I wasn't sure. The ones that ask where a page ranks in the results and ask you to load the page to get a sentence do kind of stink of googlebombing, though.
i think the fact that you searched for something still affects a site's ranking in the search engine, since you're using specific keywords for people or businesses, if i'm thinking of the right hit...
I'm at 900 pending hits... my personal high, tempted to get to a 1000 just for fun and then see how long it takes to get down to 0. Cmon requesters, show me the $$!
Kronopins was the bulk of it... which scares me because i had never done them before. And yes Rubins too.
Idk if anybody else is doing these Inveni movie hits... But my brain is fried, haha. Also, was planning on going to the movies this weekend. Currently never want to see another movie ever again.
