Yeah, I can second this. Except the alcohol part. I don't partake in that ritual. By the time I am done for the day, I am too tired to drink.

I totally didn't read all of that, but Dell computers suck frog dick.

 

I went back to HP from Dell after my Dell hard drive died like a week after the warranty expired.

 

Easier solution would have been to take out the battery and the MOBO battery as well. though depending on how new it is it may be using flash memory to store said password. There are also emergency passwords that get through that as well and even a few programs you can run remotel to brute force the thing (or even flash the entire password).

Also, yeah tech support is ASS for most major companies now.

Well, I did completely disassemble the laptop, removed the battery (the only one that was on the motherboard) and also looked for cmos jumpers. No jumpers, battery didn't help either. It was non-volatile memory storage that it was in. So.. onto step two.

Found keygens to auto produce a password based on the id codes given by the laptop. They didn't work either. Then I learned that this thing is new, Dell went to 16 digit hex key codes. To get those cracked, everywhere I looked, I had to pay someone. I only had $30 invested in it, so no big deal. hell, the screen alone was worth that much, and not counting the rest. (It was a newer style, maybe two years old. Running Windows 8). If I could have got it working, that would have been tits.

So, yeah. Dell made it look like I could have stolen the laptop, and stuck by that decision even after providing a receipt.

 

Alcohol is like an energy drink for me.

 

Whew. Feel like I need to go for a walk. Hell of a series. Used to the Blues losing my entire life and assumed it would happen again after letting it go 7 games after being up 3-1.

 

They are the better team now..

 

Wow... Lots of hockey amazement today.

My local ECHL team advanced to the second round.

Blackhawks are out. Kings are out. Lots of powerhouse teams defeated this year.

Exciting post season for sure.

 

Heart attack hockey huh? I know the feeling. When Caps couldn't sweep Philly I got a decade's worth of bad deja vu flooding back. Blues got a helluva team this year.

Condolences Dacia. Quenneville does not strike me as a guy you wanna be around after a first round bump.
