I pressed "save" with very little confidence on #6, but apparently I was close enough. After that it is easy. Now to see what the real HITs look like.
Hopefully you missed the one that someone linked from a Kari HIT earlier. I think it had to do with poop... The things we do for money on mturk...
I saw the link and almost clicked on it but stopped myself once I registered what it actually said. I'm still mad about a survey a few months ago that wanted me to look at a pile of poop for like 30 seconds. I no longer do surveys that state I have to look at images unless they specifically say faces.
Anyone have a good suggestion for a batch that is always around to clear captchas with? I've always used a Brelig batch, but apparently that is a "high demand" batch, especially late at night. Had to refresh the tab 7 damn times just to get mturk to admit there are still Breligs left and give me a damn captcha, which kinda defeats the point of a quick captcha clear.
I was thinking about this the other day because my return rate is high because of dezzzz Dammmn captcha's haven't really found anything worth actually doing to clear them so I just hit whatever and then return it . . .
Ok, I'm confused about maps. I had a simple one and got a $1.20 bonus. Then I had one that took FOREVER and the bonus was only 28c. How is the bonus figured? And this is what people lose their quals for? Does that mean I should stay up and ham while they're sleeping in case I lose my qual in the AM?
I think the $1.20 one was for passing the qual test... (You don't actually get it until you've done a HIT, because they cannot give a bonus if you've never actually done one of their HITs.)
All questions give a bonus based on difficulty. And some questions give an extra bonus based on accuracy. I could have sworn that when they accept your hits it tells you if you are doing poorly. I got some of these "Just FYI, this map is below the minimum desired accuracy, which is 0.6. If you submit too many maps below this level of accuracy, you will reduce your average score below the level required to maintain your qualification."
That's your bonus for passing the test. If your return rate is too high, you could lose your qual (they state it on their website they don't want people cherrypicking). Wait until you spend 5 minutes on one and get .15 bonus lol.
