  1. I got it work with relative ease.

The only thing you need is java installed.

It runs off java, so right next to your backspace button(not sure on linux) - it shows something next to the url. Double click it and allow it.

If not, download Java and you're good to go.

I did 'em both for an easy 8$ for 15 mins of work.

Not much on the web uses Java any more. But I don't know if it's equally dangerous in Linux. If i need Java, I'm not doing them. 20-year member in my county's computer club.

Can't figure out VLC, usually just use if for playing videos. I'm using the sound recorder in Windows. stick around a few minutes.

That looks really cool. If you're into Sci Fi (especially military) the Baen Free Library is a great place for free ebooks. Also, many public libraries provide access to free ebook and audiobook loans to everyone with a library card.

  5. Many games are run off Java plug-ins, if someone wanted to infect you there's many easier ways.

FFS, just install it to do the HITs and then remove it if you want. And how is getting recording working in VLC or sound recorder gonna help you?

You were just complaining about not making enough, and you have the chance to make $8 in like 10 minutes or so.

He did say a while back that he was done with the grind and didn't need the money that badly, and would only turk once in a while when he felt like it. He took a couple of weeks off and then was active for another month or so IIRC, then seems to have left for good since.

My money would be on him resurfacing briefly here and there.

Not the games I play. I removed Java some time ago.

They want 60 audio files uploaded. VLC is my usual multimedia player/recorder, but they have a huge wiki. The one built into the system is easier.

oops, they want me to record on the page. But it says to install Java only if you can read the green words.

I miss so much having gifs turned off. I like this one :D

  15. Just saying, that many very popular games still use Java. It's not even warranted to say it's unsafe. Flash player is basically the same thing, everything from porn and youtube is run off Flash. And it has just as many security risks(with an even worse history of security)

    I'll ignore that.

YT now runs on HTML5, and many sites are following. Flash is doomed. I'm familiar with its history and every 4-month security fix.

  18. No wonder I've had so many bugs with Youtube not playing video lately(on research since the default switch).

That explains a lot, LOL. Thanks for that, I just switched to chrome when on Youtube since Firefox had so many issues with it.

The Java web plugin is notorious for the number of vulnerabilities that have been discovered and is declining in popularity. The Java programming language is still going strong (although it's getting some solid competition from C#).
