I think that this coin mining is happening in other places, too. My CPU will suddenly start running full tilt for no reason. all I have to do to stop it is go to another tab or page. I've seen uBlock blocking 5,8,13,to as many as 21 somethings on Crowd. They say they have no problems with this, or ads, and no pop ups, but something is going on. Even on TH, which has the https security. I run all my scans and I'm clean. It's the sites, and whatever is going on, apparently it's on all the forums.
I also just learned about this weird stuff where your CPU could be spying on you.
I very much believe that hacking into sites/other computers/spamming ads from even safe? sources has gone far beyond understanding or stopping. We done. We've lost control. We owned by big business.
Just in case this talk of others using your computer to mine coins has you wondering if you can mine for yourself then the short answer is YES. Check out a legitimate pool like Nicehash. No knowledge of coins is needed (though at some point you will need to tell them where to send the Bitcoin you will make) and the software is not too demanding of your system. If you are more of a digital fox you can also pay a pool to mine coins for you.
If it were running in my puter, I would see it in the Task Manager, which is clean. I know every process in there.
I made nothing. I'm fucking depressed and don't want to do anything but watch star trek reruns on netflix.
They've been running all the Star Treks here on a local station. All in sequence every weeknight. I still like DS9 the best, had the best characterizations. I'm watching less TV news these days, can't stomach the POTUS. And Charlie Rose's 11 PM show, which was a staple in my household for 30 years, is now gone. The board's hardly moving today, I took a peek, but there's no sense sitting there. But then you have other good days that make up for it.
I'm just binge-rewatching TNG. DS9 was probably my least favorite, no offense. Enterprise was my favorite....I know I'm weird. MY dog died a couple nights ago and I'm pretty devastated and don't even want to work. I've been calling in sick to job number 2 and barely functioning at job number 1...and not really turking.
What's TNG? I hadn't ever seen the 2 most recent ones. One is Enterprise, I forget the name of the other. You're not weird. Someone just dropped a $2.50 and I got it on panda. I'm watching TV and knitting, and Hit Catcher speaks if it catches something So sorry about your dog. I lost one of my cats recently.
Sorry about your cat too. Animal companions just don't live long enough really. This is my second rottie to die right before Christmas. I guess I should feel fortunate, the longevity for rots is 8-10 years. First one made it to 12, this last one made it to 10. This is the first time in over 15 years I haven't had at least one dog.
