    What is this?

    I am Tjbot! I'm a solution devised by the genious mods to prevent there ever being a day that hit threads aren't posted! The whole point of my existence is to post a hit thread if one doesn't exist by 12:08am PST. If you see this post, assume that this one is the main post. One of the mod team will clean up existing posts and consolidate once they wake up and get online. As my name indicates, I am a bot. I don't post, nor do I respond to PM's.     When prolific first implemented a minimum I was happy.

    In practice, I don't know that I like it. I don't know what they're increasing it to, as finding things on their website is difficult, but the old minimum was £5/hour. And I think many many researchers read "you must pay £5" as "you only need to pay £5". To which they said "Awesome! I was planning on paying double that!"

    Worse than that, they can deliberately set the pay low, knowing prolific will make them add pay to bring it up to £5 (or whatever the new number is) so they can pay the absolute minimum and not risk paying, say, £5.05 or something.

    That's just my take on it. It's nice that you don't get suckered into absolute garbage, but I rarely see surveys paying WELL on Prolific. The 10 minutes for $3+ stuff that shows up here at times.

    I switched ISP about 6 months ago and this is the first time I've had an issue like this. Hopefully not too many requesters start using this dubious service.

    Reminds me of the old days with OCMP who thought I lived in Angola. Or possible Azerbaijan. That A in AT&T must have stood for something like that. lol
