this is an odd one, I messaged Movie enquirer because when I tried to do it, it told me to wait until midnight my time because that's when new movies would appear. The directions said not to return the HIT but to wait because the time would be extended but there's a few things with that:

    1. it's still showing 1 hour 30 minutes and is counting down
    2. 5 hours from now my time will be 11 pm

    Hopefully they get it straight!

Oops... Found them... Bummer! Need 1000 HITs and I am at 783. Maybe next time. Any one know of a QUICK and EASY 1 or 2 center I can do to get over 1000 some time today?

    Thanks!

I love them. However they mass reject if you get too many wrong. I usually get 500-600 in if I catch them when first posted. If anything is questionable I think to myself...would two people possibly pick a different answer? If so I return it. I get 0-3 rejects per 500 hits. There are many horror stories with this requester mass rejecting. YOU CAN AVOID THIS! If there is just a smidgen of doubt that someone might pick it to be different than what you think the page is RETURN IT!!!! I return 100 abouts doing 500 hits. I know that's a lot of returning but I make 10$ in roughly 70 mins. Returns are way better than getting rejects. I am posting this to help you people out. This is actually a good requester but you just gotta be EXTREMELY careful on which ones you do. Hope this helps a few of you out. Hopefully I will find us some nice batch hits today =] Happy turking!!!!

Rob try doing redwood hits. The "Review a short transcript (< 10 sec)" ones take about ten seconds each and approve fast. The other one is called "Basic Caption Requirements Review " Both of these have hits available almost all day. It isnt great pay but it will raise your hits approved quickly. Wish you the best of luck.

^ I have been avoiding transcripts because to me, it seems that they'll be able to reject you easily for poor grammar and/or punctuation. Neither of which I'm the best at. Am I correct in assuming this or are they really much easier than I'm thinking? Also, by transcript they're meaning type exactly what is being said, right?

In that hit all you do is click what is wrong. I have never gotten a reject from them and have done close to 1k of them id guess. Search it and try one. Trust me it is easy and approves fast. Great for getting your hit count up.

If you do the Redwood <10 sec transcript it is extremely easy. No formatting, putting speakers 1, 2, 3 etc.

You should look into it. It's a very quick way to get numbers.

The basic caption requirements and basic caption requirements review are equally as simple.

I agree. Redwood is a quick and easy, albeit low paying hit. I've done at least hundreds, prolly more, with no rejections. The transcription review there is no transcription skills needed, just click on the errors. My punctuation sucks too, but I've never had Redwood reject one of my transcriptions.

Oscar Smith is also a sure accept to the best of my knowledge. The pay sucks ass tho'.

This one is interesting. You have to do 25 hits though. It is trying to decipher family ties. Pretty easy.
    Search for "Benjamin Wharf"

    Have fun.

    Hello!

I was very cautious doing transcription HITs at first as well, for the same reasons you are. What I found was each requester has different requirements concerning whether the transcript is to be verbatim or not and what symbols, syntax and grammer to use. Even more confusing is that within some requesters individual jobs the guidelines can be very different. (eg. SpeechInk has different types of transcription tasks and depending on which type the guidelines will be different.)

Some requesters tasks such as CrowdSource and Redwood are very tiny snippets of audio that are very easy to transcribe, but again each of those requesters have VERY different requirements. It is important you read the guidelines for each requester and each individual task. Most of the requesters that primarily focus on transcription tasks such as Casting Words and SpeechInk will test you, give you a grade and only allow you to perform tasks you are qualified to do. They have set up pretty nifty systems to start you off with what you are capable of doing and working to help grow those capabilities. As your skills progress that qualification score progresses and more lucrative jobs become available. I have not personally seen any transcription jobs get outright rejected from a reputable requester if the work is obviously thought out and not just crappy work. They may give you feedback you might not like or prohibit you from doing more of their transcription tasks by lowering your qualification score with them or in the case of CrowdSource, just stop letting you do those particular HITs - but outright rejecting it is usually done only to the transcripts that are obvious B.S.!

I would say the Redwood hits would be the best to start out with. Practice your typing and as long as it is obvious you were trying to enter the short few seconds of audio you heard you shouldn't have any problems. Doesn't pay much but you can do many and they approve and pay VERY quickly. You can also do their hits titled, "Review Captions..." where you just click on words already transcribed that are incorrect while listening to the audio. Very easy and quick and you will get an idea of the type of work they expect and are receiving.

Hope this helps! My suggestion would be to dive in. If you like it - work the skill set and get to the really good money! If not - no harm, you made a little money and now know whether it is something you want to pursue.

Above all, have fun! We aren't paid enough to stress!

It cut me off at 23 so if I don't get paid what a waste of time.
