Ok, I just got my registration approved today for Mturk. I earned 2 pennies in a couple seconds. It shows 2 cents in my value, but when I go too amazon.com, it doesn't show under my balance? How to I work this?

You won't see any money in your balance until your 10 day newbie period is up.

Yes but it also won't be immediate.. once your 10 day period is over your HITs that have been approved and paid will start trickling in so don't expect all the money you're waiting for to show up all at once. It usually takes a few days for everything to 'catch up'.

I was wondering that as well, thanks. I'm about three days away from the ten day mark.. And then from that point on it moves automatically? Do you have to "cash out" from mturk to amazon payments? Or does it move on its own?

I know from payments you have to transfer to your bank, bit not from mturk to A.P.

    How payment works....

OK... Quick lesson on how it works...

Nothing gets paid for first 10 days.

After 10 days all the approved stuff starts to go into PAID status and you will see it in your Amazon Payments account. All my approved went to paid within in 24 hours of my 10th day.

From the 10th day forward (and by 10 days I mean 10 consecutive days of 3 HIT approvals or more. If you skip a day the count starts over!!!) as stuff is approved it will shortly after go into PAID and go to your Amazon Payment account.

From there you can transfer to an Amazon Gift card or transfer to your bank account. Transfers o your bank account have to be a minimum of $10. Amazon will not do a transfer for less. Transfers to a gift card have to be at least $1.

Amazon states that transfers to your bank account take 5-7 days. For me it has been 12-36 hours. Your experience may differ.

Any more questions.. Just ask! I hope this helps!

Also, the Amazon gift card thing is not really useful because you can use your Amazon payments balance to make Amazon purchases...no need to transfer anything! Might come in handy during Christmastime though! :)

Actually it's not 10 consecutive days.

Actually it is 10 Consecutive Days!

From the e-mail I received once my account was approved:

And I know from personal experience that it is. I had to contact Amazon because I was not getting payments and that was because I skipped a couple of days after my first day... After that I had to do ten consecutive days and everything was paid, no problem. I said three HITs a day because another user I am aware of got an email that said three HITs per day for ten days - so I was erring on the safe side.

You may have been the exception to the rule... But I, and several others I've spoken to, were not. I could always be wrong! But that is how it worked for me and others I know.

    Hope this helps!

***EDIT*** In hind-site - maybe it isn't 10 consecutive days. It said "at least" 10 days... Maybe mine just turned into 13 days and the email was a cookie cutter response. In any event - no reason to take chances.

The gift card thing is useful. You should never save money in your account for later. Always either transfer it to your bank account or take it in gift cards if you are saving up for purchases. If your account gets suspended any money in it becomes frozen. Gift cards are separate and you can still use them. In lieu of the recent suspensions its not safe to keep any extra in there.

I generally transfer my earnings as soon as I hit the magical $10 mark, because it costs nothing to do so if you have direct deposit. I understand why Turkers in India are less anxious to have Amazon cut them a check, because they get dinged something like $5.00 every time Amazon does so, and that's a lot of Turking.
