My mother's doctor used to shot B-12 Intravenously to cure a hangover. She told my mom just to drink a lot of water and down the B-12's before you go to sleep.

 

I drink water before I drink, while I drink, and after I'm done drinking, and I never get a hangover. Hydration is the key to preventing a hangover.

 

Who is this "they" you speak of? Yes, racism was worse way back. I suppose a better way to put it would be, way back when there was a middle class, college was affordable, and one parent could make enough to support a family. I swear I read somewhere once that smell is the best trigger for memories, probably why comfort food from your childhood is so awesome as an adult.

It is! It's thought to be because the primary olfactory cortex is physically closest to the hippocampus and amygdala, which regulate emotion and memory. It's also why smells can elicit such a strong emotional response.
