  1. I don't qualify for redwood or ANY hits now. FML this is going to ruin my life. No literally. I was depending on this to survive. Was great being a member of this forum for 20 minutes. I planned to stop lurking and join soon. But this.... Is jus BS.

  2. If no one bothers Amazon, then they won't be bothered to ever do anything about it...please make some noise even if most likely nothing will happen.

  4. OMG you guys I am so sorry this is happening to you. Some one is never getting a decent worker again though >.> Just let me know if there is anything someone who did not get a look even at the hits can do....I will find him and hunt him down if you like

  6. Honestly it's unlikely. Just my opinion. Then again Amazon could be REALLY slow about noticing so who knows really? I know there isn't much you can do with a 50% approval rating so..

I'm OK at transcriptions, verbatim transcriptions, that is. Typing extremely fast isn't the most important aspect, being able to hear and understand what people are saying is.

The only transcription requester I really work with is Speechink, and I have never gotten a rejection. As of right now I've done 2039 from them with an overall rating of 97. When I first started it took me about 30 minutes to do a three and half minute transcription, but now I can do a four minute transcription in 10 minutes, if the audio isn't too horrible.

The hardest part is understanding the huge number of accents. People are often upset or have heavy accents, but you'll get used to it after awhile. If you are having a great deal of difficulty with a transcription and putting lots of [??] marks, then you really should return it however, as every transcription that is rated over 90 percent accuracy gets a bonus, with up to 50 percent of the original pay for a bonus at 100 percent accuracy. Just remember, slaving over a transcription for a long time will get you nowhere, choose your transcription HITs wisely.

    Good luck in your endeavor.

I only did 9 of them after returning a few which didn't match at all, so maybe I got lucky after all.

  12. Sadly Amazon will do nothing. You can email them until you're blue in the face.. they've always taken the 'We will not get involved' stance.

However I would be emailing the requester until HIS face turned blue and doing everything I could to get that reversed. I don't depend on this to survive but I'll tell you if I didn't do Turking we'd be eating noodles every night of the week so.. yeah I DO depend on this.

Don't lose hope, with enough people Amazon will have to do SOMETHING.

If someone can verify they put up the HITs then I will gladly call.

Edit: Small silver lining in the 4 dollar bonus I got from the webcast surveys.

CS "Select first website" hits are up.

If only I could do them still.

  20. Mine are still pending. I'm just waiting for them to get rejected, though before I flip out. This'll put me down to 97ish percent. ugh.
