Hey guys! This is my first week. I fell upon turking while trying to find a way to make money at home since I'm a full time teacher and have two small childre (read no room for second job). My goal is to start paying off all the debt our family has accrued over the past few years of living with kids. For the first week I've made about $180 which I'm pretty happy with (Probably about $5 an hour and had a lot of free time due to Christmas Vacation).

My question is this: Do any of you now view purchases in turk value? I'll think about going to buy a drink and then think, "This would take me 6 transcriptions to pay for!"

Overall I'm very happy I came across this community.

    Turking for debt!!!

About how many hours would you say you put in? I have debt and goals I would like to turk for as well.

I do this all of the time. I see myself buying lunch and pondering the thought "This is going to take me this many HITs and hours to recoup this money".

I work for a school myself too, so the money I make here is primarily going to savings so I can only imagine what it is like for the people that Turk for a living. Welcome aboard and hopefully you are still enjoying it.

Recap on this: Since starting turking about 6 - 7 weeks ago I have made almost $800. I turk everyday, sometimes only an hour and make $5 and sometimes more and make $50. It's going really well and i have paid off a LOT of bills. No more bill collectors calling me and I paid off 1 low credit card. Still think of things in terms of HITS. One of my friends wanted to go get a shake at McDonalds and I was like.... that's about 3 surveys. No thanks. :) Hopefully 2014 will be a great year in turking.

This is inspiring, kma. I'm turking for debt, too. On par to pay off a loan by the end of the year. Turking may help me get there even sooner. And I hear you about thinking in terms of turking. I've become a little obsessed over the last few days. :)

I always think in terms of turking, too! A $7 sandwich means a lot of keyboard work! Good luck to you!
