Hah. It was definitely tough, I didn't initially jump into 40 though so it wasn't *too bad* but people were releasing/they were expiring for most of the day after as well so I'd grab what I could that came up, do one or two and then I'd ask myself why do I do this to myself, feel miserable for awhile, see more and accept those and the vicious cycle repeated over and over until I amassed 40.
they can't verify my address. i've moved quite a bit in the past few years and i'm not sure which one the IRS has for me, and none of their emails indicate which addresses they've tried. what a pain in the ass... if anyone has experience with this, is it possible to get back 'failed' transactions which occur while your account is restricted/suspended?

Ahhhh, yeah I see. Yes, you can get back the failed transactions. I had a problem with them verifying one of my bank accounts and something similar happened.
Been there, done that :/. Keep contacting them, and call them if you need to. After a while your amazon mturk account will get suspended too. They'll keep it suspended until everything is in good standing with your amazon payments acc. My case was, there was some money I got paid from Mturk after amazon payments acc got suspended that was irreversible. I hope your case won't be like mine. EDIT: the problems I had with them was verifying my ss card and my address.
To find out which address you use in the registration process with amazon payments, go to "edit my account settings" and go to "change my contact information". There you can see your "primary address".

UGH...that definitely sucks!!! Sorry to hear that this happened to you. When they couldn't verify my address and I was restricted, lasted about 3 days, I was able to get the money that "failed" during that time...with that being said, be prepared to email them, email them again, email them, email them again, email them and email them again until you quit getting the automated reply's. It took awhile, but I finally got the money that "failed" returned to my account! Wishing you lots of luck!
