So are those not going to be Masters qualified anymore?

I see they are now for workers with at least 5000 hits. While I still don't qualify, at least I can understand and it's a goal I can actually work for.

Too bad that article can't be sent to new requesters.

    Hi FRB,

I am quite confused by your recent posting: http://turkrequesters.blogspot.ca/2012/12/unfortunate-reality-of-some-scamming.html

    1) You claim that you are/were banned from the forum. As far as I can tell, you have never been banned from this forum and your account is currently active.

    2) You claim that you have contacted me multiple times regarding improper posts being posted on this forum. I checked my messages and found that you contacted me via private message several times since June. The most recent message was regarding your "mturkconsultant" site where you asked me the advertising rates for the forum. The screenshot is posted below.

    3) Your main argument involves a troll account with about two posts. A member with 2 posts can hardly be considered a member. Would you have reported this post to me prior, I would have removed it immediately.

I know you are a long time turker nation member, however your attack of this site is dishonest, deliberate, and factually incorrect. Please help clarify this for me....

The blog is correct in ways and also in correct in ways. But I think the Masters Qualification is most certainly here to stay. Amazon makes more money off using it, and whether Tim Edwards thought it was useful or not. There is a lot of new requesters that are only searching for Master Qualified Workers.

I think this is the way they are going to increase the amount we get paid in a way. Possibly also as a way to get rid of the bad workers that have high rejections if you are at 5000 HITs you shouldn't have over 395 rejections if you been turking for only a month. It's here to stay so aim for better quality in your work or keep complaining. I don't see Masters going anywhere at all.

Razor put your damn sig. back.

It's still there, I just tried to disable it in the Greatest hits thread, so I wouldn't take up too much room in that section. I turned it completely off by accident.

And you are defiantly correct. They increased the pay when Earning the Masters. As far as quality of work. I highly agree. Some might suggest that the Masters is randomly given out. And one might recieve the same quality work from Masters as Non Masters, which if they've; a. been turking long enough, and b. pay attention, they would know that this hypothesis is not correct. As another experiment on a blog I read suggest, that almost every single one of the people that have lost their masters qualification, never have received it back. The only people that received their Masters had a certain Approval rating percentage. Nearly all Masters had at least a few thousand hits completed at the very minimum. As a Master, if you do not work up to standards, you lose the qualification. Amazon obviously only keeps a certain quality of workers within this group. Sure you may have some spammers that get it, but they get booted out. And sure there are people that do not have the Qualifications that do deserve it, but have yet to get it. I'm sure their time is coming. Amazon makes a percentage more off of every hit a Master worker does. Amazon makes a certain percentage more off every hit that a Requester post that requires a Master. So obviously the Masters Qualification isn't going anywhere? Why? If you don't know, then you should take an Advanced economic theory course, and then you might understand why Amazon has such thing as, the Masters Qualification.

In theory, this is a good thing for us. Because, as you said, when you work your way up and earn that Qualification, your pay obviously goes way up. When you earn your Masters you can go from making $50.-$75. a day to $100.-$200. a day almost instantly if you've actually "Mastered" all the techniques; such as proper searching, etc.

That's just my .02 on it.

You can see the HITs available for masters; they do not pay any more than other HITs.

What do you mean "they increased the pay"?

I'm not saying they directly increased the pay. With the qualification you have a better opportunity to make more money. If you search for hits that require masters, as you will see the whole first page is nothing but batch hits that require masters. Some of these pay .15, some .10. some .05, but add the amount of hits x pay of the hits. Thousands of dollars on just one page, that you don't have the opportunity to do without the qualification. And the majority of the hits are very fast hits. For example the google the twitter handle. Takes a three second search, for .05. Them same 3,000 have been sitting there all day. Because as you notice, the hits go away a lot faster, with the master workers. Thus if I wasn't working on something else, that's $150. I could put in my pocket just today. Before the qualification, I was averaging roughly $75. - $100. bucks a day. After the qualification, I went seven days straight over $150.00. Maybe my theory is wrong to you. But I'm not here to are you. I'm just talking from personal experience and not from my behind.

    I sent you this email:

I'm posting it here so everyone can see. That was not my post. :) I tried not to do any turking stuff at all when I was away, and that post was as new to you as it was to me.

This post was made by taintturk, the turkopticon mod, who has been trolling our boards for months.

This post was made by taintturk: http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?5233-Can-t-Find-Good-HITs-11-30&p=88849&viewfull=1#post88849

http://mturkforum.com/member.php?6449-Vitalis is also taintturk, so user was banned for trolling.

This post was made by taintturk: http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?2210-Requester-seeking-feedback&p=10966#post10966 - Also notice the context of the thread. A big requester came in seeking help, so naturally taintturk created a BS account and starting acting as if he or she was a complete idiot to try to scare off the requester. Very typical of him/her.

All any requester has to do is lurk like the rest of the lurkers and see that the greatest hits does not have any cheating going on in it. They would see more colorfull chit chat then work getting done.

Some people just have far too much time on their hands and way too pathetic of an existence. I'm sorry but going through all of this trouble just to bad mouth a group of random people on the internet that you'll likely NEVER have actual contact with is just.... well it's pathetic.

Happy New Year everyone. Try a little positivity for a change. If y'all hate this forum and/or its users so much... stop coming here!

Normally if someone shares info about a survey in that thread, they get chewed out by other members. I bet the forum that has the secret invite only boards is where all the cheating is happening.

Yeah, but according to some comments on that blog, they may be creating troll accounts and then emailing the requesters saying like "Look at mturkforum at this post they are trying to cheat you!" and then directly linking to the post they just created under a false name.

Anyway, ill continue to be on the lookout for bad posts. But just FYI, if there is a new user, and they create a bad post, it may be this same blogger...
