I'm asking because today I was getting close to $600 and my qual went from 193 to 185 in a span of about 10 HITs. It's dropped before, but nowhere near that drastically. I'm afraid to do more until I hear back from them as to WHY.

Is my rating going down because they've kept track of my overall earnings with them?

Mine dropped from the 190s in 10 HITs to the low 150s. I contacted them to sort it out but I doubt they will. Hubpages has always come off as a sketch company.

I hope they get back with you (and me) about this. They're as legit as the other 2.0 sites and I have plans to start writing there, but these HITs pay more in a month than 50 Hubs will pay out in a year.

How do you check your current qual?

    Progression:
    Take Qual test: get 30
Do 10 of their Practice HITs: Get a score anywhere from 173 on up and work on their "real" HITs
or: Get a score below their threshold and you're not able to move on to the others.

Bonus pay is based on your accuracy (that 170s-190s number). Anything below 185 SUCKS BALLS.

Search hubpages, two results show. Show All, your current qual is shown.

My interpretation of the explanation given me is that they've started taking the time spent, the spacing between submissions, and length of article into consideration. Without feedback and without forewarning.

No, it has nothing to do with tax issues. We did make a change recently that makes it difficult to have a very high accuracy if you are not reading most of the article. I understand that it's in a turker's interest to go more quickly than that, so we are trying to push back against that tendency. It's simply that you (and to a greater extent others) are rating articles differently than you probably would have if you had read the whole thing.

See, I figured they'd be taking time into consideration after the first night doing them. So I would accept 5, then rotate through tabs - making sure each hit a certain time before submitting. It certainly does not take over two minutes to judge most of these. I'll try to build my score back up (slowly) but I feel bad for anyone caught up by their accuracy algo change.

It would have made sense to take that into consideration from the beginning.

It would have been nice if they mentioned that in the HIT or at least told us in email. They still haven't responded to my email.

In most of my correspondence with them, feedback (to workers) has been brought up consistently. I think I understand what they're trying to accomplish with the manual reviews of each Hub as they're published, but they're putting a lot of faith in their criteria meaning the same thing to dozens of people. Judgement calls are necessary almost every single time. I can deal with the gold standard hubs they send through, but the timing thing was harsh. It made assumptions about each turker that could be true, but probably wasn't.

I'd accept a batch, read a batch, submit a batch. It was all timed so I could keep better track of how much I was making every 15 minutes - since they approve every 15 minutes. I like 'em well enough. Just going to take me a long time to get my qual back up. I'm updating sites instead.

That's crazy. I can scan a HP article in 10 seconds and see if it's any good.
I took the test, but haven't heard anything back yet. How long does it usually take to hear?

You should've either been granted a qual of 30 after taking the test or you didn't qualify for the practice hits.

If you got 30 on the test, you do 10 of the practice hits to see if you qualify to do the batches. Doesn't take very long to find out if you qualify or not (within half an hour of submitting the practice ones, I think).

eta I wouldn't suggest turning them in as quickly as you're able to make your assessment.

It's on my qual list with a 30, but I don't see any practice hits. I'll go look again.

I only got a qual of 150, and they require 172, so I guess I failed it. Oh well.

I'm one practice hit short of my full 10, but now when I click on the practice hit it gives the "there are no more hits" message. The current practice hit batch expires by the morning, so I'm hoping that another will be up with a practice hit that I can complete so I can get my score.

Update: Well, the practice hit batch is a new one, but when I click on it I still get "There are no more available HITs in this group. See more HITs available to you below" I just need one more practice hit, and the 9 others I did have been paid--- anyone know if this message pop up when you are blocked from a requester or something?
