I am newbie, started working mturk about a week ago, I am working in a upscale retailer and making nothing a week, but watching customers buy socks at $14.00 per pair, and slaving away selling the store credit card- I thought I would give mturk a try for a little savings to pay off few credit cards. I am just starting to investigate all the ways to make better money doing this - but I am excited I can sit at home and use my computer for a little extra cash. What is the best advice anyone can give me?
One of the biggest pieces of advice make sure you have all the scripts to make things run smoothly. One of the top priorities is Turkopticon since when starting out you really don't have the numbers to withstand a lot of rejections from a bad requester. Another thing is at this point you should try doing some batch hits to get your numbers up. The more hits you have completed the better things get for you. Other than that just monitor the forums for some good hits to be posted. I'm fairly new myself started about a month ago and definitely noticed a marked improvement after finding this site and turkopticon.
A batch hit is one that you can pound out quickly that has a lot of HITS of the same type. One of the best ways to find them is just do a search and sort by Most HITs. There are some really good requesters but cannot remember the different requirements you need for them.
