"Describe what someone does in video" Alexis Palmer . Anyone ?

Discussion in 'Requesters' started by Hi. It's me, Aug 12, 2012.

  1. I steer clear of any suspicious HITs. This one requires you to download a video. I tried twice w/2 different hits. Both times after 30 min it was only downloaded to 12%

Anyone have any info on the legitimacy of these HITs? Has anyone successfully completed one?

They pay $1.20 and there are still lots available - which could either be a good or bad thing. Anyone tried these?

From the looks of the speed of the downloads it seems too slow to be worth it tho.

  4. Thanks Zeta. Precisely why I decided to join the forum. I am experienced with MTurk, but not the tips and helpful links. Thanks a lot!

  5. Yes, it's too slow to be worth it for me anyway, but I didn't know whether it was just my computer or not.

The bad thing is that while it's downloading, it interferes with other activity, so it doesn't appear that waiting for it to download while doing other jobs is much of an option, either.

No problem, I signed up for Mturking a long time ago but only recently devoted time into it. I'm still learning things myself but I'm always willing to share my knowledge.

  7. I had the exact same problem. Either the files are outrageously large or his file hosting site is useless, or both.

I even followed her instructions to adjust the browser width and the download was so slow I had to return those the two or three that I tried to download.

Yep same here. After I returned the HIT I even ran a full scan on my computer and dumped everything I could to make sure the slow download wasn't on my end and it wasn't.
