Hit submit by accident.

I was getting ready to take 15-20 minute survey for fifty cents. Requester was from a university and has a nearly perfect rating with more than twenty TO reviews. I sent them a message telling them that it sounded like an interesting survey, but I accidentally hit the submit button before I took it and requested if he could ignore the submission and not reject it. Was this better, or should I have taken the survey, gotten a code, and sent him the code with still no guarantees it would be accepted? Obviously it's too late now and I haven't gotten a response. I'm just curious about what other people would have done.

I would have taken it and emailed a code. Technically, the HIT has to approve, whether it be after 30 days, or the set auto-approval time. This way, the requester gets their work done, and if they reject, you can always show that you did the HIT.
