Does anyone know who to complain to about the new capcha that is sometimes unreadable.....other than appearing too often the old one was much easier to read.
Also does anyone know why it comes up after every 50 or so hits?

The 50 HIT limit is probably to catch someone who's running a bot that automatically does tasks rather than doing the tasks themselves.

For example, I'm pretty sure that someone (or more than one person) is running a bot to do certain transcription HITs, for example the 3 cent "Transcribe a Short Audio Clip (~10 seconds)"* from Redwood. What they're doing is downloading the sound file, running speech recognition against the file, then uploading the transcription back to MTurk. A pretty easy way to make a few bucks if the company has a lot of that kind of hits.

It's the only explanation I can come up with for some of the more creative transcriptions I've had to correct when I do Redwood transcription HITs. I'll be reading along and everything will be in order and then all of a sudden there will be something that's completely out of whack and looks machine-generated.

i don't know who to complain to, but I agree some are totally unreadable. I'm on a 5 minute suspension right now. :( "Worker Account Halted for 5 minutes"

Well. I don't find the new captcha or any captcha unreadable. This is to take sure of new kinds of bots who are now too smart to read any kind of captchas. Attack of the bots.

I don't know who to complain to but I hate it too. I've been suspended for 5 minutes three times today :-/

  6. Not to worry about the 5 minutes Halt. After that 5 minute count you will have to enter the captcha correctly.

  7. I find the captcha quite easy to read. The letters/numbers are just turned a bit
