I've always assumed they mostly are done by (1) people in India, (2) the very new (I checked my database, I did exactly one Brelig during my first week) and (3) the desperate (and not too smart, even if you are desperate, you can do better. 411Richmond, say.)

Anyhow, I was curious, wikipedia says minimum wage in India "from 150 rupees ($2.40) per day in Bihar to 361 rupees ($5.80) per day in Delhi." I guess that is doable with Brelig, even if you are more-or-less copying numbers and letters by rote because your English is weak, and get a bunch rejected. Of course that assumes you have computer and internet access...

Put that way, I suppose what he pays doesn't seem quite so abusive. Or rather no more abusive than other companies that outsource to India, etc. It is just that we actually get to see what Brelig pays every day -- on the front page.

And dear god, I need a batch or something. I actually just spent time looking up the minimum wage in India.

Actually, a lot of people do Breligs. You'd be surprised. Not just newbies, either.

Be careful what you wish for... just caught that $5 "Reading task". Really don't want to, but it'd double my pathetic earnings for the day.

I did Brelig and Copytext when I started turking in September because I thought that's all there was. Then I found Crowdsurf which was better but still not the best. This thread really helped me start making money when I found out about Hitscraper and Turkmaster. And I only stumbled on this thread because I was trying to figure out how to filter out requesters. I still don't understand why that's not an option on the site considering AMT has been in existence for quite a few years. It's like they're pushing people towards Brelig and other nonsense.

this forum had been the best thing about turking.

ive met so many awesome people who taught me everything i know. panda, AA, Scripting, Incognito, turkmaster, Hit scraper, etc

if it wasn't for the people here on Mturk forum, i would be flipping burgers.

Have you been doing full text review? I can't figure out how to make those worth it. I don't know if it's me or what.

I've been wondering about this myself, but my understanding is that Mturk hasn't let foreign workers into the fold for a while. If that's true, the Indian workers who are hangin' in there probably have more stamina than anyone I've ever known.
Is there any demograghic statistic for masters?

I go back and forth between FTR and review, edit, and score. Some weeks I'm just not feeling it in one or the other. Last week when they rolled out the team bonus, I went full throttle on FTR and Speaker ID. I did 9 hours of MM. It was pretty crazy. Got a $30 bonus, though! :)

Keep getting an Inquisit error after the second set of questions. Not sure if I'm being screened out of Inquisit is being dumb.

Inquisit is being dumb. I went to Firefox and redownloaded when it wasn't working in Chrome.
