Why would a requestor block you from his work?

Poor performance? I understand that. But I've made several submittals to this requestor and not only got paid, but received a "well done" message as well. So far, no answer to my email.

Which requester? You can never know for sure.

I don't want to give the requestor's name, but it was for article summary submissions. I always got paid fast with well done messages, but all of a sudden, the cut off message. I'll still wait and see if I hear anything back.

One possibility is that you are getting close to the $600 threshold with them, and they don't want to take care of the forms.

Sometimes they just want more crowd and less 1 or 2 individual turkers.
Sometimes it is for tax purposes.
Sometimes there is an “R” in the month.
    The possibilities abound.

No problem with me with that. I just started this.

    Love that, and unfortunately true.

OP, those article summary requesters are an interesting bunch, if you're speaking of the same ones I think you are. Like, they all have individual names, and they really do seem to have individual personalities. TO always seemed valuable to me in deciding which of them to choose to work for, although I admit I haven't done any of that HIT type at all for some time (not because I had big problems, just because I started to pick other kinds of HITs and found them more profitable).

I never got blocked, but I do remember going along merrily with some of them and then suddenly getting a rejection or two out of the blue, after only praise before. Just as my personal policy, if I'm not motivated enough (here, I wasn't) to contact a requester to see what the issue was, I just don't work for them ever again, once any rejection comes through. So I don't know if blocking would have been next.

The best thing I can say about that crowd is that if you want to do the work, there seem to be lots of different requesters, each with typically their own genre of articles, so it's easy to spread yourself around by doing only a little for each one. That gives you a feel for which ones turn on you especially quickly, and it can keep down your overall risk.

If its Chris Furst, I got blocked even though I got a bonus and told he loved my work. I asked him to remove the block so I could continue working his hits and never got a response - I've emailed him a few times about this and finally gave up.

I think he only wants everyone to do a few of his hits because if you get too many he would have to approve you for the higher paying ones - I think those are just a carrot he dangles in front of us to get us to do the .25 ones. I don't think he has any intention of letting anyone get enough of his hits completed (min of 30) to be considered for the better paying ones.

Someone has to be doing them unless they're fake.
