Requesters, welcome to the forum! If you haven't posted already and want to post your HIT in the thread, send me a message (conversation) so I can set you up so that you can post your HITs.

I plan to give $2 to each worker as a reward, and another $2 as a bonus. I want to ask workers to voluntarily donate some or all of their bonus to a charity organized by MTurk. Is that possible? How? Thanks

Hi! Welcome to the forum! It is possible. Sign up as a requester if you haven't already and set up a HIT. Then assign bonuses through their worker ID. I don't know how to set up a HIT since I'm not a requester, you'd have to look that up and find out.

    Good luck!

Thought I had an account prior to this one but this one is showing up as no posts so not sure if I need to request permission or not.

Welcome! Are you asking how the forum works or Mturk?

I need to post a servery of about 50 varied questions. Each question needs an image. This image should be selected from a set of images, so each workers sees a different image for that question. How can I manage this in the code? For example, I have 50 different questions to ask 60 workers. I have also 50 (number of questions) sets of images each containing 60 (number of workers) images, so each worker sees a different image for each question. I am completely new to MTurk. I will be thankful if I get help in any way.

    Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately I have no experience on the requester's side of creating HITs. I don't think anyone does here. You can try Reddit via Mturk subreddit because some of their moderators or members have been requesters. https://www.reddit.com/r/mturk/

Sorry we aren't much of a help here. Hope this helps and good luck.

    Hi,
I'd like to make the following post on this forum to request feedback on my HIT. How should I do that?

    """""""""
I'm a student trying to conduct research on automated caption generation for data visualizations in order to improve their accessibility for visually impaired individuals. I've created a survey on MTurk to collect data for my research.

I'm a new requester and would really appreciate your feedback on how I can collect good data on MTurk. I've released a test batch with 30 HITs (3 assignments per HIT) to understand if my instructions are clear, the quality of data obtained, and the amount of time it takes people to complete the HIT.

So far I've received 12 responses but only three of them are good quality data. The rest have poor grammar and use the example in my instruction video as a template instead of naturally describing the prominent trends in the graph. Also despite the low quality, the time taken is longer than I anticipated. I can usually complete one of these surveys in under a minute so I was expecting other people to take roughly double that time.

I have a couple thousand figures that I would like to gather labels for at a reasonable pace and I would really appreciate it if people could complete a HIT from my test batch or preview it, and let me know in this post:

    1. How long do you think people would take on average to complete a HIT after becoming familiar with the HIT format and UI?
    2. What would be a reasonable payment for this HIT?
    3. How can I ensure good quality data? Should I limit the location to the US? Add any other qualifications? (qual test or system qualifications. I don't have enough funds to afford master's or premium quals)
    4. Is a HIT approval rate of 94% and min total approved HITs of 100 reasonable for getting good quality data at a reasonable pace?

The HIT is called "Figure Captioning Experiment": https://worker.mturk.com/requesters/AVXWN4V2GMXZ2/projects?ref=w_pl_prvw

I'd really appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
