Finding Great HITs 02/24 Hopeful Monday

I already did that back in July and got the generic garbage reply.
I just tried to send it again to their support email and it's no longer found. (mturk-worker-support@amazon.com)
I copy pasted it into their support form
just gonna do that once a month from now on

The lazy way they decide who gets masters is honestly ridiculous. Having a BS lottery system ensures you get a nice mix of experienced workers and garbage script kiddies who scam batches while those of us who have been around for years and obviously provide quality work with our extremely low rejection count get overlooked and screwed over.

It's my belief that's why they won't release the method of how they choose who gets it because it's fkin random.
There's obviously no benchmark for stats either since Seeker had 200k before he got it and I've seen people on reddit get it with LESS THAN 5000 APPROVED HITS!

Meh, I would be posting masters HITs too if I had it because I like sharing with you guys.
It's nothing personal as I like everyone here but its too fkin depressing on days
like today where there's literally NOTHING except masters work.
It was bearable when I had the closed qual (CR) posting but they're basically done with this platform.

As I said, hopefully other things come through soon. I'm getting closer to hearing the word any day now.
If I get lucky there, I won't be around turk hardly at all except during the rainy days & winter months.

I've got plans for a vegetable garden and an indoor hydroponics system to start growing my own food.
Also will be collecting rainwater and working towards harvesting it for house use.
After that it'll be working towards a solar panel system.

That will help so I'm not sitting here staring at a screen all day for $10 watching the masters workers make a decent living.

Damn I'm impressed with such low reject rate. I usually get a few each month (my last one was Jan 17 for a buck so I'm doing good this year so far...knock on wood) and I probably don't deserve 80% of them but for the 20% I do deserve I take it in stride knowing that sometimes I deserve a rejection for making a careless mistake and it still gets approved anyhow.

And yeah I can't say for sure if I'd still be doing this if I didn't have masters which I also can't say for sure if that's a good thing. It might be just enough extra advantage to keep me suffering here on MTurk. I just keep thinking surely this platform will die and I'll be forced to do something else and yet it persists like the stubborn bitch it is.

I'm over 1k rejections lol most of them were 2 different mass rejections over the last 6 years. Should be a lot more honestly I've narrowly dodged getting thousands of hits rejected a few different times over the years. Still well over 99% approval rate tho.

 

I'm not saying this is right but I sort of understand why they don't reveal how someone gets masters cause it would affect the way people Turk. If they said you can get masters by doing [x]...then everyone would do it and masters would be far less exclusive but also by being mysterious about it they can make it seem more legit than it probably is and get requesters to pay for it when there's probably better methods to insure quality data than using the masters qual. But as a requester it's an easy and lazy way of getting marginally better results so they continue to post HITs which I can't complain cause for me the main advantage of the HITs is they stay up longer because not everyone can grab it so most of them stay up longer and even when you do have to PandA it there's a better chance you'll catch it when someone lets it go or a new batch comes around.

 

Yeah I'm at 110K approved so I don't sweat my 180 rejects. I know when I first started out they had a lot more scam requesters and so I got like 30-40 the first few months grabbing those stupid HITs that I didn't know were rejects. But since then it's like usually 0-4 a month unless I take a chance on something that turns out to burn me.

I always take risks. But that's what numbers are for. Like today I just did 40 of these football injury hits. Really easy but a little sketchy. Still trickling in.
