Well thanks Whimsy. I was just getting ready to start a thread so I could launch into a story about this stray pup I found who was carrying around 6 kittens and a goldfish in a wicker basket and wearing a collar with dangly gold monkey nuts of all things.

You have successfully deterred me from sharing such valuable tidbits of my life. -sniffles-

Sorry, but I totally disagree with you. I was banned after only 2 weeks. I asked a question and a moderator jumped on me with both feet. I wrote an email trying to understand what I had done and got a "this is going to go on your permanent record" for questioning the authority of the moderator warning. What is this kindergarten. I responded to their message and banned myself for life. What a bunch of self important loosers. Nothing like that has ever happened to me on this forum and I'm sure I've gotten just as much information here. Still too new to be of much help to people, but I'm trying.

Wow, that is quite strange. Unless you're super troll of the century or something, why be so harsh?

After reading this entire forum I don't think that my post is "quite strange" at all. Certainly not a "super troll' or even close (but thanks for thinking I'm super intelligent!). But just a very bad experience at TN. I like this forum much better.

I worked for a games developer as a community manager and they had a rule that anyone who disagreed with a mod decision got themselves a ban. But games forums really need tight rules, I am not sure somewhere like TN does, so much. That's what I thought a bit strange. But I admit I have no personal experience of there. :)

    Hahaha! oops =/ sorry

At TN, the most "technical" you can be about a requester is their Hall of Fame/Shame. Then it's strictly why you've come to a decision. Communication, pay. Approved/rejected.

The main part of the forum, that's open to everyone, is for people to talk about off-topic subjects or mturk in general. If you want to be able to talk about a requester, a HIT, a cool survey -- it is only allowed in the "back area" that gets unlocked after you've been given access. Front room threads have rules about even mentioning which requester you've worked with the most. The mods are very strict about this.

As someone mentioned, you could have an answer about a specific topic -- give it, everyone is happy -- but then the whole thread is moved to behind the closed doors and you won't be able to see any follow-up. Until given full access. Or you could have a specific question, post it where you think it's appropriate - only to find it moved behind closed doors. You'll have the answers when you have full access. Wonderful, isn't it? lol

The benefit to this forum is that you're allowed to talk about whoever you want, whichever HITs you want, and give tons of solicited and unsolicited advice -- all day long. And this forum is public. No one has to even log in to read what's posted. That's why I think it's cool that people are still signing up - even if they don't post. Or just posting to say hello and going back to reading.

yes there are friendly people there - but i can find friendly people tons of places - but that site's for helping people gain knowledge and money. or is it? pffft ugh nvm no more ranting from me about it. not tonight at least. numbers, registrations, posts, activity is all up here. that's a good thing. the haters can suck it and continue to watch and scoff

Wow! The latest with the TN egotistical admin. Banning entire domains from the chat because one person from that domain is giving her problems. I am not saying that the admin should not ban individuals that are not following the rules. (although one of the rules is you are not allowed to question an admin LMFAO!) However, banning the whole domain because one individual from that domain is giving her fits is fucking ridiculous! I feel sorry for those who also use that domain that have not done anything at all.

Again, I still have love for my fellow TN'ers!

She's going to lose her access to requesters if that continues to happen.

one can only hope, at least

Is that a group of NatZis running things over there or what? Some of the things I have read about them make me wonder why anyone in their right mind would bother being a member there.....

I don’t wonder - I am completely certain she is.

Why would someone who is trying to make a living on affiliate traffic via Amazon be so hell-bent on driving people off their forum?

Why didn’t she realize that sooner or later, after she had shitcanned enough people, those same people would coalesce on a different forum? Or does she really expect everyone she bans to just quit Turking?

She posted once that she didn't care if another person ever joined the forum.

I don't think she really cares about what happens to you once you're out of her kingdom. She knows she has a monopoly on being the best turking forum since she has a lot of requesters participating and believing that that is the best forum.

I think what she really likes is how much new members kiss up to her and tell how how wonderful her idiotic rules are. When the older member lost access to the hidden areas we weren't even allowed to grumble about it, we had to say how wonderful it was that she did that.

I just know you are not allowed to talk about anything you see on their forum or chat anywhere else. Not even your own mother, pillow talk with girlfriend, dog, mailman, fellow turker or Jesus in prayer.

Not even if its to tell others to avoid a requester that is scamming or rejecting.

I for one see a scammer running around I will stop report them to mturk and let my fellow turkers know.
better for the community as a hole - Darr left mturk with his 88000 hits after enough attention.
