I keep getting emails from Amazon saying they could not verify my account information. Each time I log on and fix, or add whatever information they are asking for, whether it be my address or the last four digits of my SSN. But, I keep getting the emails and now my account has been restricted. I can still receive payments from requesters and can still withdraw my funds to my bank account, but I am still worried. I sent them an email this morning explaining and offering to send a copy of my driver's license if need be. I've had an amazon account for years with no problems.

Has anyone else had anything similar happen? Just curious...

Yes. They ended up not being able to verify my address. I can't receive payments, take money out, accept a HIT, nada. Until you stop getting those emails - stay proactive and tell them you're willing to "do more". I am playing roulette with old addresses just so see if one will stick and they can confirm it.

Oh and if you change your address, be sure that you make it your primary address for confirmation purposes.

I've done all of that. Just found out today that my account is suspended. I added the only two other addresses I have lived at in the past 8 years. I just emailed them, explained what is going on, and offered to send any documentation they needed.

How long has this been going on for you?

Well I first started talking about it when they asked me to verify my SSN. That's happened to others, but not too long after Amazon still kept on. This is the thread:

    http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?3004-Thank-you-for-providing-your-tax-information.

And then on the 9th I was suspended:

    http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?2954-Whimsy-s-Stats/page2

I haven't heard from a live person yet. I may not be able to turk anymore so I started a site for a blog and I'm concentrating on building content and getting a good google ranking.

I'm so sorry that it happened to someone else but at the same time I'm (selfishly) glad it isn't only me it's happened to. I felt pretty picked on when it happened. Now...I'm still trying to communicate with them but not putting all of my energies into it. I have to find a way to make money, with or without turk.

Are you using different computers by any chance? I have 3 computers in my house. My main work computer is fine, but I can't do Mturk on one of them anymore because it says my tax information has not been verified (although it was, months ago).
My 2nd computer did the same thing but I was somehow able to make it go away.

I had upgraded my laptop (no fekkin way i'm going back to the old one) and had started using browsers other than opera. Maybe that's what triggered it, but they can kma if it is. And the thing is - I gave them what they wanted. More than once. If there's a problem with their system reading information that's sent over an updated browser -- then I'm really pissed. I don't know if I'm pissed at Amazon or Mozilla, but I want to give them both rabies and hole them up on a closet together.

and the reason I'm pissed is that I'm an honest person and haven't lied to them one damn time, or tried to hide or cheat anything.

I guess I can add myself on this now. Not sure wtf is going on but I got the email from them the other day to 'verify' my amazon payments account. So I logged in, put my last four of ssn that they asked for and figured that was that.

Nope.. woke up this morning to an email saying the information couldn't be verified please try again. Um, really? The ssn that I have had for 39 years can't be verified? I find that rather amusing and I am going to be fairly frickin irked if my account gets suspended because there's no damn way they shouldn't be able to verify my ssn. They've got my proper address, they've got my proper ssn. They need to get on the damn ball.

After I sent the email I got one back saying they were able to verify and that I am no longer suspended.

I had not changed computers or browsers. I dunno... Just glad it was taken care of.

I'm still playing roulette...and will try another today so maybe tomorrow I'm not restricted. Got this in the early a.m.

    Greetings from Amazon Payments,

We are unable to currently verify your account information. Please update your Amazon Payments account to include your FORMER residential address. Amazon Payments is required to verify individual ownership of accounts, and we are unable to do so with your account's currently selected primary address.

    To do this:

    1. Access your Amazon Payments account and select “Edit my Account Settings”
    2. Select “Change my contact information”
    3. Enter your personal name and address at the bottom of the screen
    4. Select “Add New Address”
    5. Leave "Make this my Primary Address" checked

If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at payments-verification@amazon.com

    Sincerely,

    Account Specialist
    Amazon Payments

I've only got one more shot for adding an address. It's one I hadn't used much, but it's the only former address I'm comfortable putting as my primary. If they send out my primary for (God willing) 1099 info to requesters there's no fekkin way I want it going to any of my previous addresses since They're All In A Different State, but this last one is a family member's house.

Well I'm a freakin' idiot LOL After entering my last four again today it suddenly dawned on me... I got married in March, when I signed up for M-Turk I used my married name... BUT I haven't legally changed my DL or SS card yet [Yes... yes I am a procrastinator] soo I am guessing that is why they can't verify my info, because my ssn is still associated with my maiden name. I sent off an email this morning explaining and letting them know I was sending the forms in to have it changed so hopefully I won't be suspended but knowing my luck.... yeah.

I got the same message. I guess their systems are messing up. I input my social a second time after getting a message- I input the last four digits- Then the next day they asked me again- Which would be a third time- Saying they couldn't verify it- So I input it again and thankfully have not received another message. It just must be some glitch or something because it is my social so? Since it is happening to many of us- Just sounds like a glitch.

    Yay Whimsy!! Welcome back!

I am really hoping mine gets reinstated soon, I faxed them the papers yesterday so now I'm just gnawing off my fucking nails waiting. I don't expect it to take a day but damn it feels like it's been forever LOL I think I'll call again later this afternoon if it's not reinstated by then.

    Thanks, interneteditor =)

And yup, Booty, they let me come back. In the meantime I was just spreading my own special rays of sunshine here.

And my amazon affiliates application was approved (for other ventures) and my kids go back to school next week AND I'm making my minimum per minute now with my transcription jobs for CW. Today is a very good day.

That's awesome! I couldn't do the Amazon Affiliates shit in my state so my "other ventures" have fallen by the wayside. Kids going back to school -- I can relate to that and dammit I CAN'T WAIT! 8 DAYS! Back to making real money again.
