I got that "some of your answers weren't what we expected" bit once too. I also clicked the unfair or incorrect button.

Hmm... I've never really thought about that. I have 100% accuracy (9/9) so far and I've just always assumed that the results would be kept within the given location parameters. I'm not sure-- I would say "Yes", but I suppose you should return the hit if you really don't want to risk a rejection.

Edit - Come to think of it, on 411, the one's in grey are generally not what you're looking for-- the one's sandwiched in white are usually the right ones (and it is usually always the first one). For YP, the correct business is usually at the top if it's there and same for DK.

I usually just make sure the address number matches across all 3 to be safe.

Anyways, I've reached my limit, thanks again chaos!

Yep - found out for sure.

Even though a business may come up as the one listed for that city, it's got to be the exact same city name (even if it's just 2 miles away).

I take back what I said earlier. The next time I got one w/same name diff city, I check NO. It told me I was wrong with that also.
Oh well, it was still worth the time.

I'm no fan of CF anyway, but I've always kind of wondered if they just have this sadist sense of humor about them & get a kick out of aggravating/frustrating the workers. Notice, they pay us anyway....
heh I have a wild imagination but it wouldn't surprise me :)

I clicked No for anything not the city listed- As the directions say if it is not in this city then click No- I did and got 100% accuracy for almost 100 of them. Just how crowdflower is. That have an iffy checking system. I believe if many others say yes and you say no- Then you get told you are wrong for it. Whether you are or not unfortunately. I got lucky this time

Actually, the directions don't say that it has to be in the same city. The exact instructions were:

" If COMPANY appears within the results for CITY, STATE please answer Yes." To me the statement "within the results for", means as long as it is in the results for the city's search. If the city Phoenix, AZ is part of the search, anything that comes up under it is appearing within the results.

Their instructions do say if it is in the same city to click yes.

So I only clicked yes if the business was in the city they listed- It didn't just say state, It said, City, state. So I thought that is what they wanted. Some of these tasks are a but unclear. I made an executive decision as to what I think they wanted, lol

You know Crowdflower- Even if you follow the directions it doesn't mean you will get accuracy :/ I did it that way and had no issues because it didn't say state only. But I know some did that and had issues.
    Their quality control is whacky.

I would have preferred to click yes for business that were clearly the same- Same name- Just in another city- Like they had moved- But I clicked no for all of those and had no issues. It seemed that is what they wanted. I just got lucky I guess. I hope more of these come up- Easiest task they ever created.

They only let me do 15 of them, then they gave me the "you have done all the work..." blah blah blah, even though there were some left. Why did they do that, when I had a 100% accuracy reading?

Naw, I still think it's to be interpreted that as long as the business is within the results that come up when you search for that city, it should be yes.

I did something like 265 of these, and only had two that they said were wrong... but they actually weren't wrong. I selected yes, and they said it should have been no, but in both cases the result showed the business in the exact same city that was specified. I copied and pasted that result into the explanation as to why I thought their judgements on those two were wrong.

Exactly- it's to be interpreted. I wish requesters would be crystal clear so there is no question as to what is wanted. Then there wouldn't be so many quality control issues either. Oi

I'm not worried about it. CF rarely rejects since they started doing their quality control measures. They just boot you from doing anymore of a particular job if your accuracy slips below their standards.

I just saw your post oh so strange. They only let you do 15? They suck. I got in 161 before I got the cut. Such a weird requester.

I've never had these people tell me I got something wrong when it wasn't really right. Just one of the millions of reasons I hate to work for CF.

Yep. I have yet for them to be right when they told me I was wrong as well.

I hope that one comes back. All of mine were approved. I stopped yesterday after about 20 (I had done about 50 the day before) after reading your comments. I noticed that there were some tricky ones, but I guess I guessed correctly.
