    Hi,

I am a PhD student and I need to complete to code some 11,000 newspaper articles by Tuesday 11 September. I already have 3 workers I have qualified, I need to find other 3 so that I can give the job in exclusivitiy to 6 people. On average you will have to code 2,000 HITs and it will take around 30 hours work. You will need to complete correclty 80 HITs for qualifying for this job. The HITs willl be availalbe from Saturday and should be completed by Tuesday the latest (4 full days). I can pay 0.07 per HITs (an average of around 5$ per hour).

I have been working with the worker "Riyaz Ali Khan" for many HITs and I need to find a person as reliable and quality as him.

I'm one of the 3 people already qualified for this :)

I've been doing the pilot HITs today and it's good steady work, I can recommend it

I've requested the qualification and would like to try some of your hits to see if it would be feasible for me to do the required number.

Just for everyones security. If this guy asks for your ID even AFTER you tell him no you are not interested now. Do NOT give it. He has no need for your ID if you are not working for him. Don't know why he was so adamant I give him mine even though I said no thanks. Hope I am wrong but to me that was a BIG red flag. Just letting people know so they do not make a potentially big mistake. Not saying the guy is bad. Just saying what I experienced and what you should not do if you experience the same.

All, I am very annoyed by "2muchTurkin" response. This is my communication with him, so everyone can judge himself. All the workers who worked for me can confirm that I put a lot of care and effort in dealing with them and try to resolve issues, so I think "2muchTurkin" has no right to blame me. Also, I can actually take the ID from the batch, so if I wanted to behave badly I would not have even ask him!

    "2muchTurkin" message:
"Sorry I have to pass. It just is not worth my time. You will easily find 3 good workers here at the forum though. Take care."

My answer: "ok, thanks for your answer. just a curiosity, how were you able to do the HIT? did I assign you a qualification already? Let me know if you want to be considered for future work or not. Please give me your ID so that I can either contact you for future work or eliminate on my list. I want to identify only few workers and have a continouos relationship with them."

Why would you need my ID to 'communicate' with me? Sorry bud but with all the scammers around of late I , and many others, are weary. Get upset as you want. My post said the facts and nothing else. Besides to be honest. Your work doesn't look right. Your English doesn't sit right either for a supposed 'PhD student'. There now you got something to cry about. Suck it up and move on and get your 3 workers.

    All, this is my profile:
    it.linkedin.com/pub/marco-clemente/3/18b/b41

Unfortunately I cannot compete with for-profit companies and I cannot pay 6$ per hour.I can actually pay between 2$ and 4$ or 5$ per hour (this is my target for the last HITs) depending on the urgency and the type of hits. However, on the other hand I put a lot of efforts in the relationship with my workers. I know the pay is lower compared to other workers, but given I am a student, this is what I can pay on the moment. When I will be a professor I can increase the pay. So, this does not mean that your time is worth only that amount, but that this is what I can afford.

Therefore, I want to find a few workers to work with so that they will benefit in the following way:
    - give exclusive work to them
    - refer them to other academic people
    - treat them with fairness. I like to ask workers why they code in certain way and I reject the HITs in very few cases and mainly if they really seem they are done wrongly on purpose.
    - work on HITs that have a meaning because the results will be published in academic journals, instead of working on HITs that they just help other people to become richer. I may be able to quote one or two workers in the aknowledgement of my article, though I cannot promise it now. However, I can send you the artilcle when it will be published.

For any questions or comments, happy to discuss and explain.

    Thanks!

    Marco

You are judging from zero source. you are such a crack. Thinking too complicated without going into subject. I earn around $500 since this past 4 months from marco, along with good enough of amount i learn so many professional ethics from this work. We the turkers along with earning dollars should gain professionalism, decency and good relations with requester, where all cant found in you.

You has to understand mainly in this thread, one fellow turker(me) is recommending the requester(Marco) to be work with. But you makes the picture rough with your unacceptable attitude. Anyways i suggest other turkers to stay away from sentences he used.

It's understandable that workers have a suspicious mind these days with all the bad requesters out there, and all the blocks, suspensions, mass rejections, it's to be expected..

However I can say Marco is one of the good guys who always communicates any problems with his HITs and works hard to resolve any issues you'll have. Nobody should have any doubts about him
