I did a HIT for this requester a couple of weeks back and it was paid quickly and approved. I tried recently to do a HIT from them and it says I was blocked! I'm so tired of requesters who think blocking is okay to keep us away from their next batch of HITs. Don't they realize that is what the freaking qualifications tab is for! UGH!!!

I emailed this requester and told them all this and even told them to use the freaking qualification tab! I was nice about it though. I explained how if we get 3 blocks we can lose our account all because they decided to block us from doing their hits again! I haven't heard back yet but if any of you have done any AGORA surveys you might want to check by clicking on one of their hits... there is one in there now from a few days ago... just type in AGORA.. I bet this requester blocked everyone who done previous hits with them!!!

I know they are using blocking as a way to prevent turkers from doing another hit from them (maybe the same survey just worded differently) because there are a lot of complaints in turkopticon about them doing this... but they are getting good ratings because they pay and then block later!!!

    UGH!!!!

If you didn't receive an e-mail, it was probably a soft block which has no effect on your account (supposedly). It is annoying though, I agree. Qualifications are a much better way for requesters to make sure you don't do the same hits multiple times.

Yes I realize it was a soft block. But I've been reading on the Requester's boards and apparently amazon doesn't distinguish between the two... just a note attached to the reason why it was blocked. That is what makes it a soft block. I don't like any blocks! Amazon stated on these boards that it was best if the requesters just use the qualifications instead of blocking. And they were discussing how accounts were getting shut down because of these sort of blocks... accidents from not "noting" why they were blocked... amazon was talking about it taking a few weeks to reinstate some of the accounts they are investigating. It doesn't make sense to block in any way when there is room for error.

Imagine all the requesters who don't frequent these boards???
