    Hello,

Last night,I read the Casting Words style guide, did, and submitted two hits.

This morning,I checked my mail. They had given me 100 percent bonuses on both hits.

I opened my MT dashboard and read the feedback. In one,I had "improper spaces" and in the other "improper spaces" and a capitalization mistake. Both hits had been approved and paid.

While I know my objectivity can be questioned,I think both hits were "8"s.

My qualification score had dropped to 79 and I was thus prevented from doing any more hits.

Does Casting Words use a process that has the initial grade reviewed by another editor,or am I stuck with the 79?

If I ask nicely, diplomatically, will Casting Words raise it back to an 80 on a probationary basis?

    -------------

    Thank you.

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

I transcribe for CastingWords. Please search the forums before starting a new thread. Your question has been answered a few times before. For example, if you search "castingwords score", you'll get 10 threads back, and that's not even close to all of them. I found at least 2 instances in those results in which your question was addressed.

It's often the longest threads returned in a search that will be the most packed with useful info. I would recommend that anyone serious about transcribing through AMT take the time to read the densest ones the way through. Also, those are usually the designated question and answer threads, so if you have a (not previously answered) question about that company or transcription issue, those existing threads would be the places to put your post.

It may be clear from your post here what the improper spacing was. In U.S. usage, you should always single-space after every comma.

    Good luck!

To answer your question, though, CW is dropping new people down to 79 until their work is reviewed to ensure that scammers don't get through like they used to. I've seen a TON of people trying to scam them in the 5+ years I've been doing their work. Give it a couple of days and if it doesn't go back up, just email them and provided the work is good, they will bump you back up :)

    melissa71642,

Thank you for answering my question, including the explanation of the logic behind CW's action. :)

I actually did go back through the previous posts and saw the two replies that came closest to answering my questions prior to posting my thread.
