I've been diligently working on tasks the past week and have successfully completed over 1000 hits, and today while I was writing an article, I went to click submit and it said my account has been suspended? To my knowledge I've done nothing wrong and done every hit I've submitted properly... can anyone tell me possibly why and how to go about getting it un-suspended?

No idea. Did you get a lot of rejections and were you banned by requesters?

In any case, only MTurk support can help you. Write to them.

    Good luck! :)

but WHY would they do it if someone is doing diligent work.

I found myself suspended and i have no idea why. a couple of requesters blocked me but never gave any feedback as to why. one of the requesters had horrible instructions on his HITs and another i KNOW i did quality work for and he always approved my HITS.

WHy not just have the turker blocked by whichever requester wants them blocked and let the turker continue working. I have done over 25000 hits and really need the income. I sent a request to customer support but havent gotten a response and dont expect one.

    This is very disturbing

    Hmm

It could be how fast you are doing the hits, I know if you do to many at a given time they end up suspending your account...

I always make sure I cash out when I have enough to, just incase Mturk does decide to do something funky like that...

The best to do is use the mturk support :/

I just posted above this thread.... "Turk will not protect its workers?!"

Seems like they are on a roll today, not respecting and protecting their workers. I just cashed out.

If it's already processed & they've mailed the check, I guess you'll get that money. But if they haven't mailed it, the chances are quite meagre.

Surely you can. In fact, you can create as many as you want :p. But I doubt if they'll let you have the money you earn through it. Yet, if you want, you can give it a go. Who knows, might be worth the risk!!!

Same here. My account was suspended today. And I don't know the reason. I don't have multiple account, I never been rejected by any Requester, and my rate was above 97%.
What happens with MTurk? Why are so many people suspended, in just 2 days?

WINDROW = 1. a row of hay left to dry before being raked into heaps
    2. a row of dry leaves swept together by the wind

from The Random House Dictionary, 1991

I think that guy wanted to say "withdraw" not "windrow".

I'm not a racist, but may I ask what's your nationality? Just trying to figure out if some sub-continent is on target here.

Oh, yeah? Really? Thanks for the clarification. Had it not been for this enormously enlightening post of yours, I'd have never learned that. I'd have always been under the impression that the guy meant "window" :p

No offense meant to anyone, just trying to have some......

Uh, don't feel too safe just yet Mr justfight (;)), on the other forum it was said that Amazon is apparently "cleaning up" or "out" , weeding out bad quality workers (not my words). I wish they would weed out the bad requesters too.

And thanks to GRRRL as well for the helpful explanation! I also thought of "window" but how one was to "window" ones money was kinda eluding me (throwing it out the "windrow" maybe?). With the splendid explanation it now all makes sense again :)

I get it that this fellow meant 'withdraw' when he wrote 'windrowed'.

@Jaseem Your English sucks .... it's difficult to understand what you mean to say in the post above. Regarding your $350 withdrawal and getting a confirmation email, I think you will get this amount if the check had been dispatched before your suspension.

Can you tell me how many accounts you have at Mturk?

I remember getting a PM from you asking for tips and good hits. You had mentioned you barely make $5/day so going by that rate you must be earning about $150/month. I'm really surprised and baffled as to how you could make $300-400/month.

Thanks for sharing that, I'm not on the other forum as yet.

You wish!!! But I hardly think that would be any of their top priorities.

When I mentioned that I thought it meant window, I was just kidding. In fact, I was just being a bit sarcastic when I mentioned the following in one of my previous posts:

(hence that :p emoticon at the end of the sentence) I understood that he meant 'withdrew'/'withdrawn' (respectively for each time the word 'windrowed' is being used in that post) the very first time I read it; that's the only word that makes sense given the sentence in case.

It sucks all right, but haven't we seen worse?

Guess I missed that one where he mentions getting a confirmation email.

PM would have been a better mode of communication for that particular part, IMO. Anyway, w.r.t. your baffled query, working through multiple accounts [$150/month multiplied by 2 (or who knows how many!!!)] may be the answer for that.

Imagine him writing to customer service ...

How can someone misspell "withdraw" so much that he arrives at a word that seems to be a remnant of the Middle Ages? I would have never guessed "withdraw".

Wonder how the folks at customer service will interpret "windrow"? :D
