Do you mind sharing how you overcame this problem. This is my second day on MTurk and I just got this message with only 78 Hits submitted and 93.5% approval rating. I already sent MTurk an email, but the last question I had to them appeared to respond with either a bot or someone who barely spoke English because the question they answered was not at all what I asked, but did have a few of the same keywords. Needless to say, I am less than confident with getting a relevant response from them.
When you are new to mturk you are only allowed to do a certain number of hits per day. I have heard it is 100 hits but I am not sure how many days. Those 100 hits though also include all of the hits you return and let expire. 100 accepted hits, not necessarily submitted. It is my assumption that they do this to keep the scammers from making new accounts all the time and grabbing many hits without any QC.
Grand! How long is this limitation applied for? Until you get 1k? Or what? I use to be an active M Turker with this same account and somehow after being inactive for a while I get this same message.
Why is it that some turkers have a limited number of hits available to them. Is it because that they are new turkers or what? I have never encountered this situation.
It is a limit for the first 10 active days of the account, presumably to weed out spam accounts (which might be less of an issue now they are pre-approving accounts). You also can't access any earnings until after those 10 days. I don't think they need to be consecutive days but perhaps someone who knows for sure can post.
Like the Turkers said above, there's a 10 day period of limitation. However, I am pretty sure I've read that limitations are activated at any time based on total available hits and personal approval rating. Anyone know what I'm talking about? It's been a long time since it's happened, but Mturk has stopped me before long after my 10 days were up.. Several months ago, I got the "no more available hits for you" message after I'd done 242 hits in a day . (they were short 3 cent hits). My approval rating was either 100%, or 99.7% at lowest. After 3 or 4 hours, I was able to do hits again. Either way, it's a quality control measure, but I'm not sure if there are specifics listed regarding. I wish I remembered where I read that about the limitations being based on total available hits!
