Redwood rejected my some HITs without telling the reason. When I send them the appeal for my good work with proofs they apologized to me and told that they have an auto approval system by comparing with other turkers answers. which made the problem. And given me a bonus. But the problem now is that I got a black mark that my approval rate went down. I value my approval rates. So I am away from them. I just shared my experience.

So now I can't get their HITs. So I am not working for them anymore... I blocked them and I don't want to see their HITs.

Redwood is a "Majority Rules" requester. If 2 or 3 other turkers say something is wrong, you get a rejection, even if you're right and they're wrong. I won't work for anybody like that.

I want to throw in another warning about ProductRnR. I got a rejection from them, despite following all their rules in image flagging to the letter. In fact, I registered here just to post this.

I never plan to do anything else for them, and I suggest no one else does, either.

That's a very good idea, I probably should too.

I did work with them before I installed TO, and everything was fine. I was surprised when I saw their bad ratings, but I am not surprised anymore. I don't think they understand how rejected hits affect us.

I did over 400 hits with them the past few days and have been paid for all of them. Now I'm afraid to do anymore.

    this one

    Quality Website Reviews

    2 reasons:

1- they have a stupid evaluation system you will be rejected automatically if your answer conflicted with the other two workers who worked on the same hits

2- they have a bad reputation in turkopticon

Yes, Emmy you are very much right. I blocked their HITs for these two reasons. When I will get a rejection because of the auto evaluation systems then I will run away from that HITs. That is the better way to get your approval rate not to go down.

Hello friends: I reported this man to Amazon Mechanical Turk:

I just did a hit for a David Melnikoff
but at the end of the survey he asked that I downloaded a bar in my pc and I did not want to do that. Is that legal? I don't want to get a virus, neither I want to download anything not required in my pc. I just want to hear from you.

This is the info for him:

    https://qtrial.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_eDRENmidUjYjie0
    Color Me Curious - Bilinguals

    This was Amazon's reply:

We take all claims of misuse of our services seriously and investigate each one. If a Requester asks you to download software that is against our rules.
Please report this and any similar HITs using the steps below.

I'm going to follow up on this regardless of whether I get paid or not. He shouldn't ask anyone to download a bar to get paid. It's a good thing I have vista and I have to give permission if I trust the program or not. Just an FYI. Have a great week friends.

Yes, we should report all the requesters who ask us to download all kind of stuffs. There are others who ask to download apps for mobile, or software. It isn't safely at all in my opinion too.
We the workers should hold together here - keep informed each other.

Such low lives are present in vast numbers. All you can do is report them to Amazon.

Classify This is complete garbage. I had had success with them in the past. So in an effort to make some decent money quickly I devoted an entire day to their task. The instructions clearly state they base approval on multiple users having the same response. The task is not all that difficult- does the page load, and what's the title. I had THOUSANDS of tasks bulk rejected by them at once, and was further blocked by them. I promptly e-mailed them, stating I had worked for them previously with no problems, and even if I had been guessing at the answers (which I was not), it was statistically IMPOSSIBLE for me to get them all incorrect. I politely asked them to review my tasks, that perhaps there was a system error. They replied with "your answers did not match those of the other users. We manually reviewed your task and they were incorrect". SERIOUSLY? That is a load of you know what if I ever heard any! The HITS were nearly identical to the HITS I had previously successfully completed. A complete waste of my time and efforts. They got tons of free work out of me! Be careful!

    Re: Classify This

You can’t just go by (1) the page loads and (2) copy the title. They liberally sprinkle in 404 / not found pages in multiple languages. So if you are blindly saying “yes” upon page load and copy/pasting the page title, you will get burned.

Question on checking on requestors. I need to go download turcopticon but I have another question. When you are searching on HITS do you go ahead and accept one that looks good and THEN go check this forum and turcopticon? I've noticed a lot of HIS I'm interestedin disappear if I don't accept them quickly so wondering how people handle this. Accept and then if you find out they are bad, return them?

I got burned several times this week. THEN I found this forum! LOL!

    thanks!
