LOL, yes that was the one!! :) It was silly, it was boring, I guess I just didn't consider it "horrendous" - bubble hell, to me, is horrendous. But I was definitely ready for it to be over when it was!!!

Honestly, I also thought it was fine for the 37 minutes or whatever it took me when I did it last month. I think it was just so cheeseball that it bothered people.

Story of my child's life since he was 3.5 years old. I always think about him when I dare complain about anything requiring a needle. Cause he is a human pin cushion and rarely ever complains about it. Counting carbs becomes second nature but it gets old having to count all the time.

ugh. hopefully my mother will be through with this when she gets off her steroids in 2 1/2 weeks. she doesn't have to count carbs though. just 5 units before or after the meal. i think she was counting them when she was in the hospital though.

so she doesn't have an insulin to carb ratio? Like Jonas gets 1 unit for every 13g of carbs for bfast and 1:20 for lunch and dinner. So do they have her eating a set amount of carbs then? I mean if she were to eat too few carbs and still get 5 units, she could tank so I am confused. lol

When Jonas was first diagnosed we were on a fixed carb plan and omg it was so annoying and so inflexible. Was so happy when we got our ratios and now he can eat whatever and we know what to give him. Will be starting a pump next month and it will make it even easier.

I hope your mom gets to stop it all though!!! Def a bit PITA.

i left out something. she checks her blood sugar before hand and if it's over 200 she needs to give herself extra units depeneding on what her blood sugar is.

I don't know what she/ the nurses did when she was in the hospital. that's even MORE confusing to me.
she mainly eats carbs here though. her nutrition isn't nearly as good as when she was in the hospital.

the only time so far she needed extra was her dinner dose yesterday b/c she ate a cupcake for lunch.

ok so she has a correction factor. then gets extra for stuff like cupcakes. So she has to give insulin based on the carbs in the cupcake? Like 1 unit for every ____ carbs? How have her sugars been since being home.

Diabetes stuff is such a bitch anyway. I'm kind of thankful that this is really all my kid has known, it's so much harder to deal with all the work involved later.
