I have done above 10,000 HITS of Project Oscar and my score is 85+ but now I am getting "your account has been flagged for suspicious activity" in the image part of Oscar smith's hits. I sent many messages but not received any reply. Can anybody help me to get away from this problem and work on hits again.
I don't think anyone here knows anything more than you. It's pretty much all hearsay. I know if you really do a lousy job you can get flagged, but I thought that was a score of about 50.
I had done more than 30,000 hits for him in just 3 months and my score never went below 90. One fine day his hits didn't load correctly. The images were broken. I had to return 15 hits. The result was that he flagged my account. He never replied to any of my mails.
I have heard if this happening before to people when they return Oscar hits. Maybe he doesn't like us returning HITs.
He's blocked someone from doing his HITS because this person would return the HITS just to complete Captchas. Oscar does block.
Wish I knew that before. When they were broken I returned a lot of them. I bet for each one you return, it docks you a point. I think that is right about how many I had to return. It might be a half a point for each one though. I know it's a lot. I was trying to figure out the same thing. My account is now flagged too with a score of 37. Wish I could do them again, but he doesn't respond like he used to. It's a shame. Glad to hear I'm not the only one though. Not really glad but at least I know I didn't do anything wrong.
My suggestion instead of returning them is to just let the time run out. You will get an abandoned hit, but I would imagine it's better than returning? I could be wrong, but it's worth a try.
Or just type in what you see, if that's possible. You might have to refresh the page to make sure. More often than not, refreshing at least gives you something you can use for a submission even if it's not very good info.
Well sometimes when he has errors on them, you can't type anything or submit it because the image is messed up. That is why I suggest at least trying that. Sometimes refreshing helped, not all the time though. Some are just broken. I think if you report it as broken, it automatically returns it. So that might be bad as well, I am not sure. If anyone ever finds out if we get a second try at these keep me informed. But it seems he sold the entire company to linkedin, and they are a multi million dollar business who don't really care about the 300.00 a day they put on mTurk.
Even though I had returned more than 15 hits my score is 81. But then too he has flagged me. I told him that the images were broken so had to return them, but no reply from him. Mailed him many times but he doesn't care.
Yeah, like I said Linkedin owns it now. They really don't have time to care much about them at all. If you had multi millions of dollars would you bother replying to people who are doing 2 cent hits that have probably $.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 percent total daily of your total revenue?
I wish reporting a hit broken actually did something. As it stands, we don't know who it goes to or if anyone's paying attention. Still have to either do them or return them after reporting them broken. Mturk could punish you if you did it too much for no reason. That seems like a good reason to warn you or eventually suspend you. Something Mturk can actually verify. Not saying that occasionally a hit might not be fixed between when you report it and they verify, but there could be some standard as to how many you report.
