According to Mturk returned HITs, pending HITs and abandoned HITs (time-outs) don't affect your approved rating. That's only based on the number submitted and the number approved or rejected (your current rating is 100 if all 18 were approved and you had no rejections). Most requesters require an approval rating of above 95 so if out of the 89 you submitted 4 are rejected then you'd still be above 95. But you can quickly boost that by doing a bunch of really easy, small HITs.

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to both MTurk and the MTurkforum. I'm a graduate student studying psychology and was hoping to utilize MTurk's services as a requester to improve our understanding of anxiety and related symptoms. I've some issues adjusting to forums (not my specialty area) and was wondering what tips you may have for new users?

I was doing a survey last night, and almost all the way through it I got an error and could not get back in. The survey was long so I'm kinda bummin. I emailed the requester who had his info on the survey intro. Was that a mistake. Is there a way to contact mturk about such issues or do I have to eat it:(.

    thanks !!!!

    HI welcome to the forum!

If you submitted the HIT anyway with your worker ID and contacted the requester, he's likely to pay you for your work.

Another way to contact the requester is to go to HITs you've done and click on the requester name. If you are IN the HIT and need to contact them, go to HITS assigned to you and click on the title of the HIT. Drop down menu will bring up 'contact requester'.

If you didn't submit the HIT but returned it. There's not much you can do. But I've had cases where I returned the HIT and contacted them. They have set up a HIT specially made for me so they can pay me for my time. Sometimes they will ignore your messages and you're out of luck.

Go to your dashboard (Your Account, Dashboard) and you'll find "Your Worker ID" up near the top right.

Hi all, back after a year or so not turking, and was wondering what someone with only about 1400 approved should be looking for to make decent money. I see people throwing around things like Panda and ClickTravel on the forums, but not sure how to get any, they never show up when I do a search. Basically, just looking for a little nudge in the direction of making more than $5-10 a day turking :)

Looking for some people's examples of how they set their computer up for turking. I'm on a laptop with only one screen, but I was thinking like one browser for all my hit threads, and one browser for research. Not sure how I would include scripts? Maybe Window's "sticky notes" program for note-taking.

Maybe somebody can post screenshots? Thanks!

I have a tab with my dashboard where I update the database. In the tab next to that I search the Hits. I open a hit that I want to work on in a different window and if it's a survey hosted on a seperate site then I open that in the tab next to the Hit. If I do a Hit where I need to look stuff up like Google search hits, for instance, then I open up Google in a seperate window so I can toggle.

I am new at this so I am very well aware I can't make as much as a lot of you guys here who have been doing this for quite some time , but I have a concern that i never will be able to seeng as i don't live in the US . Is this a viable option if you don't live in the US seeing as most of the hits have a US qualification ?

if you live outside the US, how comes you were able to create an account? this schould be disabled since aome years but i didn`t follow this policy too closely.
technicall y you can make a decent amount on Mturk even without the US-location qual. It only requires only a little more effort (imho). but the downside is that you won`t be able to transfer your earnings to a banking account (does not apply for Indians since lately) and have to spend it on items at the Amazon store.
so for a living it is not a real option but a good way to fund hobbies or gifts.

masters is the top-notch qualification for Turkers to obtain. You get it if you have proven that you provide only quality work and are capable of working to a better extend than any other does
for real: it is a kinda random qualification that suggests the above to requester, more of a marketing tool than actually usefull
