I use Maxthon Cloud for Scraper and Maxthon Nitro for hits. It's made my life a lot easier. I use Chrome for my general web browsing, but the major browsers all kind of suck for turking.
Interesting. Might have to look into that. I have a crappy ISP, so I tend to blame everything on them, but perhaps the browser is causing issues. Someone mentioned earlier using F5 to grab a bunch of HITs, and I was thinking, that sounds good. In principle. In practice, I'd have to pause anywhere from 2 to 4 seconds between keypresses, because that is how long it takes to get an mturk page loaded enough that I know it actually has the HIT. Yet I can run a 1 second panda in TM and it really can grab a HIT a second. So there must be some serious delay actually rendering and displaying even the mturk part of a HIT (I'm ignoring the contents of the HIT frame itself).
Yeah, you should check it out: http://www.maxthon.com/ I haven't tried TM or any of the other stuff, but Scraper runs so much smoother in Maxthon Cloud.
well this is shitty ... Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk, You've received a bonus from HubPages for work related to 3YO4AH2FPDKH58FF2U613HB13L6Q0U. The value of your bonus is: $0.25 USD The Requester included this note: This is a bonus for completing the HubPages screening test. Thanks for trying our HITs. Unfortunately, your rating style is a bit different from what we are looking for, so you won't be able to complete our regular rating HITs. (Most people do not pass our screening test.) However, we will probably be introducing new types of HITs in the future, and we invite you to work on those after we create them. Have a great day! Thanks for being a Worker on Mechanical Turk! Sincerely, Amazon Mechanical Turk https://www.mturk.com
I'm not sure, but I think so. You'll have to install the violentmonkey extension: http://extension.maxthon.com/detail/index.php?view_id=1680 TM *should* work, but I can't say for sure. The dev version of Scraper doesn't seem to work, but the older versions do. I'd bet money that TM will work with Maxthon and ViolentMonkey, though.
Just tried Nitro on a handful of VDX, since they were handy. It definitely seemed snappier (not talking about the horrible loading of the VDX HITs). In Chrome and Firefox, it is not uncommon for me to actually be able to see parts of the mturk part of the page being added. That is, I see the Account/HITs/Quals tabs, then a moment later the Search box and options is drawn, etc. Sometimes I can see it do the 3 tabs up top separately. I've always wondered if Chrome is actually checking with mturk for every single HIT to see if each graphics element has changed instead of just using the damn cache.
^^^whoops, just saw myopias post which basically answers my question. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for mentioning it! Dang, on the cloud huh? So is it really fast performance wise? I need snappy quick

I'm way late for this, but I used to get the same thing back when I changed the items per page on the Hits Available page. I brought it down from 100 to 50 and the errors stopped for a while. Then they came back and I dropped it to 20. Haven't had any errors since, but if that Maxthon browser WCH suggested fixes it for you as well and you can use greasemonkey with it? Peace out, Chrome!
Was out at the store earlier this evening and noticed they still have a 10 foot mountain of snow at the foot of the parking lot. While we did get 16 inches, this is still North Carolina. That was what, 3 weeks ago? And it's been in the 50's and 60's about half that time. Wondering how long it will last.
My BFF showed that to me when it was new (I guess six years ago?) and we laughed our asses off. But, our theory was that the dude was on muscle relaxers or something. There's no way that he could be that drunk without ending up dead.
It can last foreverrrrrrr. I remember back in 2011 or 2012 we got snow here every few days for a bit, and at the end of that mess, there were gigantic mountains of snow everywhere - especially piled up in parking lots. And it hung around for weeks, LOL.
