I just want to say, I've been on this board ALL day and feel like I know everyone, even though it's only my first day here, lol! It's so amazing to see this thread active from morning until late night (for me its 135 am right now). I'm a newbie so I've hit my limit for the day, but I really appreciate all the links posted throughout the day! My boyfriend really wants a 3D TV, so I figure I could try to earn as much as I can on MTurk and buy it from amazon.. I have a LONG way to go, lol. You know, I was very tired when I did that HIT (it was LATE), and I honestly don't remember what it was like. I don't remember a roulette wheel, but there was something like a compensation multiplier mentioned, but I didn't take it seriously either. I think they "gave" you a theoretical amount of $8 in the experiment and asked how much you would give of it to be redistributed to everyone who supposedly took the survey. I gave away half of mine to the pool - I guess they must have liked that answer, huh?

yeah - I was thinking of a different one, but yes - the one you are talking about was a 5 min HIT with a 5 min timer that I had to return, and it def had something about a "real" payout
Yeah, I remember it did have only a 5 minute timer, which always makes me a little suspicious, but it didn't expire or anything - it only took about 3 or 4 minutes, I think. Wow, that is the best pay for any HIT I've ever encountered. I must have had extreme luck on my side last night. I hope they post it again and one of you guys can get in on the crazy payout I got for it.
Welcome to the family. 3D TV is actually pretty doable, quickly too. Say you do 10 dollars a day, for maybe 5 days a week. That's 200 a month and 600 in 90 days. I've seen 32 inch 3DTVs for less than that. Hmm...LOL now I'm wondering about getting one too!
And I think the hellspawn from that ^^^^ HIT would get along well with the hellspawn from my avatar... This is the stuff of nightmares.

Thank you I've actually never thought of it that way, but that's true.. The one I'm looking at (the Vizio 42 inch) is 519 right now on amazon, and I'm sure it will go down a bit more around the holidays. 10 dollars a day on MTurk seems very doable with the help of this thread, so you're right.. You should definitely go for it, too!
