When I started with them it was .10 per hit then .8 then 7. I heard from few other trukers it was .12 when they first started . I must have missed them that week day hr lol..

I still like the hits but dont do them as often now. and i dont think they should go any lower for the time they take to load the page then the next and then make sure you dont have a board link .. and then the finding the image line or like with kohls u have to open a new page to get the store image that they will accept ..

I like the are these different locations hits and the picutre mods hits . Also do some ask a ? hits. and mix of others .
there was one requester where I went through enron emails I cant remember them but I loved those hits and there communication. I also got into doing the image tagging for a while but they take me to long for the pay. And I do like the screenshot ones from amazon .

I like the Carnegie Mellon Phishing one, even though it even paid .01. It was interesting, but they didn't have them today. I also like the Todd Dickerson ones.

I like Datacheck..I think that's the name. Some of my faves have never been seen again. Anybody who puts up lots of hits that are fast, fun and quickly approved and paid are my go for firsts. Elad and Tal took a long time to pay. Hamerhead Labs are fun, fast and pay quick with bonuses.

Sofia Manzoni can't be beat for a great way to make a lot of money. 5 cents to do things such as look at a website and answer a simple question like, "Is this a news site?" She embeds the website right inside the HIT, so you don't even need to open another browser window. She doesn't show up often, but when she does she puts up thousands of HITs at a time. Do 1000 and you've got $50. Well, in about a week, that is. She typically takes 6-8 days to approve HITs, but just be patient and you'll enjoy a nice reward for your time.

I LOVE Sofia! I made bank on her hits a few months ago. I keep a close watch for her. I wish she would come back. I'm moving to Vegas soon and could use the boost ;)

Hehe... yeah, I debated whether to bring her up. Selfishly, I think the fewer people who know about her HITs the better for us who do, but I also believe everyone deserves a chance. Especially with the volume she usually offers, there's plenty of goodness to go around. Besides, considering how the MTurk climate can be, she deserves to be recognized for always providing her workers a good wage.

I just hope people are honest and pay attention to what they're doing. I'd hate for her to give up on MTurk or lower the pay because she can't trust people to do the one simple thing she asks for.

I brought her up in an earlier post (I spelled her last name wrong) but didn't make a big deal of it. I'm thinking that most of the people who are members here are dedicated workers. My reasoning being that if they bothered to join this forum site, then they must be eager to relate, get information and share experiences. I sometimes hesitate to mention certain requestors as well because I enjoy doing their hits so much that I want to hog them to myself. However, I turk nearly full time so I get my fair share of the gigs.

One time the same sort of HITs showed up under the requester name "Yewneek". Same pay, same tasks, very similar wording in the descriptions. I'm pretty sure it was Sofia, especially since a bunch of HITs under her name showed up the next day, but for some reason all of Yewneek's paid much faster. :)

Hey, you could start working on a book about full-time turking! You could even farm out some of the writing as HITs on MTurk. ;)

There was a crowdsourced book put together through MTurk a few years ago, but it's philosophical rather than how-to in nature. There's definitely still a hole in the market waiting for something like "Turking for Fun and Profit", or even "Mechanical Turk for Dummies". :)

You know, it's funny you should mention that because my friends and family have been after me for 20 years to write a book because they love my blog rants. Never could think of a good topic that would hold my interest. That is a really good idea. Can I use it? :D

Ask500, Dan Gardner (who always gives the $.15 vonage ones) and there used to be this one where they asked you to review some Flash game (name begins with Eric I think..)..I always receive the bonus from him for getting in an honest review of his games.

Absolutely. And from now on you can consider your Turking to be not only for fun and money, but research! :)

I had done a .01 hit for this requestor answering some online security questions, and he sent me a follow-up hit which was a survey. I was happy to answer this follow-up survey which did not take long to answer and he paid a bonus of $0.42 for the same.

I hope there are more of such hits and requestors.:)

I have seen some of those hits from Eric, but the questions to be answered after testing the game are many, making me lose patience. I have never attempted that hit, but if he gives some bonus than the work is justified. If I am right, he pays $.20 for that hit.

The requester in question is 'Eric Heimburg' with ID 'AO2KH7R5BYDON' in case anyone wants to know. And I double checked, my only bonus is from castingwords, none from him.
