it's one of those that you don't get submit the hit on the original page just the start experiment button, then moves to a total takeover window. does the requester get the broken hit reports?
Oh with that kind of HIT, there's not much you can do but contact them. I have no idea if they get the data regardless but they can see HITs that expired or was returned which would show that you tried. Hope they will reply to your message.
