"Google" requester help and information: 1) Do NOT return any HIT by a Google-associated requester or you MIGHT BE LOCKED OUT of that HIT for the duration of said HIT's timer, AS WELL AS locked out of any OTHER associated requesters HITs. For example, if you return a Sergey Schmidt HIT with a 2 hour timer, you might be locked out of Sergey Schmidt HITs for two hours, ALONG WITH Project Endor and Peter Burke HITs for 2 hours. Disclaimer: It might be safe to return certain HITs without being locked out, but try asking the forum or working on any errors before returning unless you're willing to risk it. 2) These HITs often must be completed in the order they were accepted, but there are exceptions. For example, if you accept a queue full, you often must work on the first accepted or will encounter errors. If the first accepted isn't working, a single HIT in the group should work, and you might need to go through multiples to find the working HIT. Try the last HIT, or if you accepted groups at different times, try the first from the next group, etc. 3) If you encounter an error telling you to refresh and think you're on the correct HIT, refresh the page, or try right clicking and reloading the frame. You might have to try this once or twice for each HIT. One HIT should always be working, so don't return or you might be locked out. 4) Some batches from these requesters will have a limit on the number you can complete. Sometimes it's one or two, other times 100. You will receive a message stating if you have completed the maximum, so never fear to accept a bunch and keep working. It will tell you when you've hit any limit, if there is one. Accept and put money in the queue first, return later. Hi there! I'm new to the forum and don't know how to create a new thread, so I thought this might be a good place to ask: I'm a researcher and am looking for tips on how to get more workers to complete my HIT. Besides advertising my study on forums, do you have any other advice on how to get lots of workers to complete a HIT (e.g., qualification settings, etc.)? I welcome advice from both workers and requesters! I'm very grateful for any tips you may have! Thanks! P
I'm a worker, and what would make me want to do a HIT would be at LEAST $.10 per minute (more would be more enticing). Also, a fair estimate of how long the survey takes would help you get workers, and a long enough timer so that we don't feel rushed to start the survey right away or afraid that we will run out of time. So, a 10 minute survey should have at least a 45 minute timer, preferably longer IMO. If you make your qualifications low, you will have a larger pool of workers to do the HITs. 1,000 approved would give you a large pool but workers with some experience. 5,000 would do the same. Any higher and you limit your worker pool substantially. Bonuses are always enticing to workers if you can afford it. Also, if you have a good survey that pays well you will receive good ratings on Turk Opticon, which will encourage more workers to try your HIT. Hi, I am a Requester. I recently posted a HIT and the submit button did not work. I want to pay the workers (+ give them a bonus) who emailed me with complaints but they are not in the list of my workers in the "Manage Workers" section. What is the easiest way to pay these workers through the Interface?
Set up a hit for those specific workers using their ID#. You could email them a password which they would need to plug in on the hit. This would eliminate others from taking the hit.
