So I just found about about mTurk. Seems an amazing opportunity. Currently waiting for the 48h approval. I read on the internet about mturk having country restrictions. Is that still in place? I'm from Romania and I read that my country might be among them. Is the fact that I'm not from US a major disadvantage or hampering me in any way? Also, any tips for a begginer? Can't wait to start working.
Hi My name is Deleep, i am from India. i am looking for some good money earning hits . i lost my job 2 months ago im in dire need . Please help me in finding HITs that fetch good money.
Hii seojyoti, I saw your location and you are from india. im happy to find you can you please help me in getting some good HITs plz
Curious to know if you were accepted - although it seems like it if you were allowed to do hits. But I see you haven't posted here since this post, so I'm wondering if you're still around - or if you were allowed to do hits only to find out later that it was a waste of time because you weren't from the U.S. I'm in South Africa but joined Mechanical Turk in 2010, did hardly a thing (earned just $2 something) and then pretty much left turking alone until just over a month ago. I've been spending a fair amount on mturk in the past 30 days or so, doing hits, and have been paid for them. So, if Mechanical Turk really isn't accepting new members from outside the U.S. at least it seems they're not kicking out old members who were able to join from outside the U.S. some time back. I'm still curious to know, though, what the rules are now, because I've been telling others about what a great place Mechanical Turk is on my own site etc and I'll feel bad if people from outside the U.S. can no longer make use of the site to earn extra income, and will need to edit my blog post about it.
They used to accept non-US workers. I"m in South Africa and joined in 2010. I did next to nothing on mturk then, but have regained interest in the last month or so and have been doing some hits whenever I get a chance to. I'd like to know if Mechanical Turk is currently accepting new workers from outside the U.S. so that I can tell others that they too can earn extra income on mturk, no matter which country they live in. Well, an allowance to spend on Amazon if not extra income in hand (if they're non-U.S. like me), but still.
One of their vp's denied that non-us workers are auto rejected, but rather manually reviewed on a case by case basis. It seems most non-US workers are failing the review, although one applicant living in a Middle Eastern country posted his acceptance email on a blog last summer. (Countless others who haven't reported their experiences online may have been accepted). I'd say encourage your friends but don't let them feel hopeful.
