    Hi,

I am new here, I inadvertently posted a couple of HITs on mTurk that were against Terms of Service (although I did not realize it at a time). I have noticed that one of my HIT expired earlier than expected so I added time to it, there was not information whatsover in my Requester page that something was out of line.

My email address linked to my mTurk account is the same rarely read email I use for Amazon. When I finally checked it I already had I a couple warning for posting inappriopriate HITs. I expired them immediately on mTurk and deleted those that would let me do it (some would not - not sure why?). I also wrote them using requestor tools (warning was from no-reply email) that I was sorry and missed their first email and closed all HITs (those flagged and those not) now and to be safe would not post anymore and would like to close my account. Would not any reply to that, also to email asking them for their phone support for account problems).

Last two days, I was only paying workers on my expired HITs - I was first suprised that they are still getting submissions, but one worker explained to me that he accepted it before HIT expired and there was couple days to complete the task. So I was waiting for the time when I will be able to pay everybody, finally closed them and
    close my account.

Today evening I suddenly got an email from Amazon that my mTurk requestor account was suspended effective immediately and I cannot log in there anymore. There was no name on the decision, any information how to contact them or what happens with the workers.

I have almost $4000 in the account above what I owed workers - is it possible that Amazon can just take all these money from me for basically not reading my email for a couple hours? There was no ill-will involved, there should be some kind of info in the requester window, at least inappropriate tasks should be flagged :( They say now that I posted another HIT after they warned me not to, except it is not very realistic to assume that mail send to outside webpage will be read immediately. especially that mTurk mails often land in Spam folders :(

What happens to workers when my account is closed? Some contacted me saying it looks like Amazon is not going to pay them so I am paying them with my private money using PayPal. Seems right thing to do - is it possible that Amazon can consider it further violation of Terms of Service?

Most importantly - is there any email of phone they answer? Or they just send you automatic messages "your money is lost, we do not feel like replying to your emails" :(

That was unfortunately my first experience with mTurk so I have no idea how to proceed. Any advice appreciated.

Do You Have an Update on Your Situation?

I am new here myself, so sorry to not have any advice for you. I was just curious if you were able to resolve your problems? You seem very conscientious and I hate to see a good requester quit out of frustration.
