That's quite high, but others have said that there aren't many hits that had a qualification of having to do with returned hits. Just focus on not doing that anymore.

Really appreciate this post. It’s hard to sort the good from the bad sometimes, but I think you’ve nailed it!

Returned HITs do not affect you. They do not cause you to be rejected for anything. In fact I have started noticing that some HITs actually state this when you miss qualification and have to return them: "Please return the hit. A returned hit does not affect you in any way".

Well, I find that it's better to return a hit you can't hear clearly when transcribing than to stumble on and them get some English major who is working the reviewer job take her red pen and correct to the point you get a zero on it--and no pay for hours of trying. This is at SpeechInk or SpeechPad.

Since it no longer shows up on your dashboard, it looks like you have even less reason to worry about it. On the other hand, as a way to thin out the workers, they might really be counting it without letting you know what it is. Wouldn't put it past them.

Technically you actually still can see your returned hit percentage it is listed under qualifications. But yeah I haven't really seen anything that requires not returning hits

Do you mean a requester saying "don't return this hit"? I have. I don't remember which one or if it's just the same requester I click because I forget I've clicked on them before, but when I see "don't return this HIT!" I return it right away. No one who pays so little is going to tell me what to do! Dang, I live in the U.S. and I'm sure it's in the Constitution somewhere. :p

PS: If I click on one of them again, I'll post back.

Not I meant as a stat. Technically we have the HIT return rate as a stat but I haven't yet seen any requester that ask for it and even HIT abandonment rate is incredibly rare to see as a qualification.
