It depends when you refresh. I may have came in before you refreshed again so I wasn't visible until you refreshed again.

Every time a major company updates their site, it's worse. Verizon, my bank, Yahoo, AT&T, others. It used to be easy for me to bank online till they "improved" the site. It now takes me twice as long, and I had to call them twice for instructions. Verizon's my ISP, and they redid their site so no matter what I clicked on, I get redirected to pages of ads for their "products." ....
Sorry if I'm asking an old question (I probably am given the circumstances) but how do PANDAs work now? I'm clicking the PANDA link in the new scraper and putting it on auto refresh but I don't think it's working.
Same question here; the PANDA link works from Hit Scraper if the HIT is still available, but if not it just redirects to the available jobs page, so the auto-refresh is useless This new site is godawful.

That redirect when you miss is damned annoying. You can panda something if you've already got it. Even if you get the export (or someone posts it here) that has the pseudo-panda for worker in it you've got to get that into something that refreshes. Not a clue how to get it into turkmaster. And I have no real desire to figure out some other major script at the same time as figuring out a whole new server. I think that is why my own half-assed scripts are bombing -- I am asking for one URL and getting a different one back.
You can reload it to get updated info. But if you click on links from there you'll probably get redirected to worker. And if you have scripts on it, they may or may not function. Depends on if they need other info (i.e. the projected earnings script needs far more than the dashboard).
OK. MTSuite isn't doing pandas yet, and i need to switch till it does. Is Hit Scraper functional on the new site? Does it panda? URL please.
I guess it was combined with some other script to do that, but what was it? Everything worjed so well when it was all integrated. Was it Preview, Accept& Hoard? That hasn't been updated. What else can I use for pandas?
Gods. It just keeps getting worse. Not only do they hide the return button when you look at your queue, it isn't a return button at all. It is a "return this HIT then load some other random hit from my queue in case you feel like working on it" button. Which really bites if you want to return 20 HITs from your damn queue. IDIOTS.
On a related note, if you can actually get a panda into turkmaster, it will work. But it will not make a noise when it accepts even if you have "Alert" checked. And it will not stop when it accepts one even if you have "Stop on accept" checked. So you might just end up with 21 copies of that survey. Enjoy trying to return the extras.
It is kind of amazing that no one has come along and took the concept of mechanical turk and improved upon it. I know of a few other sites like prolific but it seems that if a company were to make a site like mturk but actually made it way better and not cost so much to post work it would do really well
Prolific is more like other survey companies, except more honest. Their tasks are purely surveys. I've visited some of the other crowd-source sites about 2 years ago. Some were scammy, some were poorly organized, some strictly transcription. But the web changes constantly. If you find any good ones, let us know.
This is going to take some getting used to. All the buttons are in funky places, like it was reorganized by a grad student who has only ever read about the internet in stories. They somehow made all the scroll boxes smaller and more annoy9ng to navigate and mass accepting is a serious problem. I already miss the old site, even if the interface was dated, at least it wasn't raped in the ear like this one(without lube).
amazon gets the bandwidth for mturk basically free by selling cloud services to other companies google and microsoft both have their own sites but need the MTurk workers to do their experiments prolific hasn't really expanded much if at all in the past 2 years. Amazon could get more workers any time they want, they have no real incentive to improve. it's abundantly clear the new worker site was not made to address any worker complaints
