newtown ct is supposed to be a quite town. my hubby works in that town. We were looking to buy a house there. i just hope those familes can get through this I just dont know what to think of this world anymore. Why someone thought killing innocent children would solve any issues he had.
Worst part about it is it is so close to XMas. anytime something like this happens around a major holiday it effects the people still alive THAT much more. now and forever every XMas that rolls around will be a reminder of today for anyone who knows those children. Real shame, wouldnt wish it on anyone.
By leg work I mean you need to sit here just like the rest of us and be hungry for the qual. I didnt sleep for 2 days when I herd the rumor of a qual posting being put up. No reason if you want it so bad you cant go out of your way to get it. Instead of just whining about it. Im not sure what makes you think Leger post's qual hits, he all is all but dormant nowadays Ive only seen a hand full of qual hits up from him in years.
I don't really agree. You can pass all the laws that you want and it will not stop people from getting their hands on what they want. look at the war on drugs, if you need an example. For instance, I have a friend that I have known since high school. He was accused of domestic abuse by his wife and he was convinced to take the easy way out and just plead guilty. (long story behind it, and not enough room to type the entire story.) Now, according to state law, he cannot own a firearm of any kind whatsoever. We have a local buy and sell paper here. Anything you want to sell, just put it in there. He had a shotgun in a matter of hours and one phone call. He is a hunter. He likes to go hunt deer at hunting season. He had bought one. No questions asked. You can pick them up at yard sales, flea markets, etc here. Like I said, we don't need more laws in society because they don't work. This is what I don't understand either. All I have heard is the man apparently had some issues with the principal, who knows if that's accurate but even if it isn't... WTF Kind of issues could you possibly have with a person that they need to be resolved by shooting up a classroom full of tiny, innocent CHILDREN. I just don't get it.
I am a liberal democrat and proud of it, but those you that say gun control, I would be willing to bet that the shooter obtained these guns illegally anyway. Gun control doesn't stop what happened today.
Just wanted to add to the last comment about gun control. If one person in that building also had a gun do you think the count would be pushing 27? This is the flip side to the argument. Had the teach or hall monitor or someone int he office had a gun that number of 27 MIGHT be half or less. All the bad guys have them and can get them easily.
It would probably be a good idea to start another thread for people who want to discuss this tragedy.
I don't really like the fact that the news is interviewing some of these kids.. Like come on, leave them alone! I can't even imagine the horror that went on in that school and the horror that the parents are feeling right now.. Especially those who still don't know where their kids are.. This is the worst!
