Read either 1984 or Brave New World. Sure to help with your anxiety.

most of the time im a really outgoing person. people often praise me for my social skills.
but when i dont get sun, like when i stay indoors for most of the day for weeks in a row, I get super bad anxiety
I freeze up, blush, get flustered, confused, etc in society situations.
to fix this i sit outside in the sun for an hour or two a day for a week or so. ive been like this my whole life
when i hit the tanning bed and rock some MT2.. watch out because im a god among men at that point :p

edit: my brother is autistic and used to have panic and anxiety attacks. he's 21 now and has since learned to control these feelings.

Not a book but check out something called Binaural beats. I use them in combination with breathing exercises and if I'm feeling anxious or panicky I can usually get my head straight.

I have HORRIBLE anxiety, sometimes unbearable.. Doctor keeps trying to throw pills on me but I refuse to take them. I have been reading this book and It's been helping a little http://www.amazon.com/Anxiety-Phobi...d=1355718406&sr=8-1&keywords=anxiety+workbook

Also, when you're getting a bad attack, just try to focus on your breathing.. I know It seems impossible and not easy, but if you focus hard enough you can get through an attack quickly.

Yeah, this stuff is great. I also recommend it, especially for deep sleeping.

LaFs- My hubby thinks your the greatest!

l1n7- from her Dr.'s she sees behavior specialists, she has learned that her deep breathing and meditation help calm her so she will start them when she feels the anxiety creeping up. i would really ust do a google search cause one that works for here might not work for you. she has her room as a calming place no tv and such so its the quiet spot for her. they def work for her, me its a xanax when i have them, or a drink or a smoke. (of course when kids are not around) otherwise i self soothe i texture things like when you rub on somthing, its hard to explain :)

Books, no. However, I second whoever mentioned breathing exercises. I began having bad anxiety 12 years ago, then I started doing yoga 5 years ago, and it has REALLY helped. Controlling your breathing --> Controlling your heart rate --> Controlling feelings of panic, in my experience! Erich Schiffman is the best yoga/relaxation author I know. He has free chapters online.
