For the chemistry copy and paste.

Use a split screen. Copy link address from HIT with a right click, in other screen, do a 'paste and go' with the URL. Then click and drag to paste - this doesn't work with the name. That needs a highlight and drag but the other two fields can be done double click, drag and drop.

    My Response
    Thanks for the quick response!
The way most of us workers look at hits is that we hope to get at least 10 cents a minute. This way, for 60 minutes of work, we are able to make at least 6 dollars an hour. Still not ideal but it really does help out when sometimes this is the only source of income. For example, the 2 cent hits that are available now, 4 cents would be ideal. Even 3 cents would get people more motivated to do them.

For the follow up hit you will be posting later, anything from .06-.10 cents would probably be the best bet depending on how long it takes for each hit.

Is there any chance we will see the current hits be pulled and then put back up with a slight increase in price?

    What he said back
    Hi,
About pulling the current hits and put it back to an increased price, I am not sure how I can do this as I will have to filter the hits that were done already (about 25%). Mturk doesn't offer a way to download only the remaining hits, but all of them (in a random order).

As for the follow up hit, I think .10 is achievable.

I was not talking about the one going right now, but the new one he will be posting later and was asking about the pay. This ones pay is low but I have no problem getting them done within 20 seconds. And if you use AutoCopy or AutoClip for copy and pasting it saves time.

Since it appears to be difficult to pull a hit once released... maybe request that he do a small *test* batch for the upcoming followup hits. This way the pay rate can be adjusted if the hit ends up being more or less time consuming that originally thought.

And as for the current hits... better than nothing! & they are great for building stats :)

When copying and pasting the formula, it doesn't do it correctly, i.e., letter, lower case number, letter, lower case number...is that just my browser?

Nevermind - I see from his example that it's okay...now, where's my danged coffee!!!

    I sent him this:

I saw that you weren't sure about what prices to offer for some of your hits.

A good place to start would be $.10/minute. That's what we try to go by. So for your copy/paste hits, it takes me, on average, about 30 seconds to do one. $.05 per hit would be a good pay rate for doing that work. $.02 is rather low, as we would only be making $3.00 per hour when we shoot for at least $6.

On the next hit with the google search you want to put up: With searching, sometimes it takes longer. Usually a minute, maybe more. I'd say that $.10 would be a great starting rate. Then look at the times it took people to complete them when that batch is done. If it takes longer/shorter, adjust for that.

Thanks for being a communicative requester and asking for our suggestions!

For that matter, why not invite him over here to discuss and get some feedback in connection with a test batch?

They will all be that way and it is not a problem in the example at the top it shows that they subscripts did not copy over in that format.

You can ask him to give a bonus of 1-2 cents for each hit. This is possible and easier.

Oh. Good idea. And bonuses always make me smile. It's like finding a gift under the tree when you go to take it down after Xmas, haha.

Basically, when you highlight text, it automatically copies it to the clipboard so you don't have to right click and hit copy. You can also paste by just hitting the middle button on your mouse.

Okay I told him about the small test batch idea, and he is going to do that now for all future hits.

What does it say when you try? Sometimes clearing your cache/cookies/history and restarting your browser/computer fixes the issues.

I invited him to the forum also. He is going to come I do believe, I told him about the actual link so all we have to do is drag and drop in the page.
