I tried to pull what you guys usually do and hit $40 to $50, and if I had the work ethic I totally could have, but I tuckered out after about $26 and some change. One thing I learned from my first batch of bulk hits today is to diversify what I do throughout the day, because what stopped me from doing at least 100 more is that I got bored and ran out of things to say. It's like, "they're fucking, what else can I add anymore?!?!" LOL in fact, this is the most I could ever make since starting in may and Turking on and off since then (it's now just a matter of hoping they all get approved which I feel good about).

I ran out of unique descriptors pretty quickly. Several HITs I've tried have broken submit buttons. Bah.
Yeah me too.. I like the easy 61 character hits but the 90 ones get tough fast.. Today's Projected Earnings $35.22 Done for the night ;D $110 in 3 days can't really complain about that
I made a whopping total of $0.90 today. Spent the day with the family celebrating the 4th. Gotta make up for it tomorrow. Setting my goal at $30.
I lied... I couldn't go to bed having made less than a dollar today. Churned out as many hits as I could while fighting off sleep, now up to $5.05
What in the world are you guys doing? If it's hits that go fast it's ok you don't have to tell me, but mturk has been pretty dry to me lately. CrowdSource always limits my hits, so after making a few bucks with them, no more available. I'm at about 5 dollars for the day :S I've been making more money on other sites at this point
You've just got to be willing to try anything, and get a feel for what HITs are going to be quick enough to churn out a few hundred of them in an hour or so. A few days ago I found a batch of HITs from a requester named edward kohler, did I think about 200 of those at 3 cents each.. that comes to 6 dollars and it took less than an hour. Two days ago a requester named Andy K had a huge batch of hits that paid 4 cents each, and I was able to do 500+ of them within about 2 hours. So that one batch of hits alone was more than $20. It's just about getting an idea for what you can do quickly, and once you do some nice mass hits you'll start to develop a list of requesters that you've had the best experience with, and keep an eye out for their hits.
That being said... I'm struggling today. Going to fall way short of my $30 goal today. There are plenty of hits available, but I haven't really found that sweet spot. I'll probably be looking at about $15 by the time today is over, though part of that is the fact that I've got to go to work from 4-10
